I have to agree with the pre 80's i think, otherwise it just keeps getting stretched out. I do like the other motors mentioned, it is a tough call. And seeing as I sport a Capri, mine being 78 they do go up to 87 .....and they got plastic end caps on their bumpers?

But a Capri is Old Skool to the bone and you know it.

The mk3 escorts rs1600i, rsturbo's are fooking lovely cars, just not sure they will ever fit the description Old Skool......

i do love cossies, rs1600is, xr3s, supersports but theyre not old skool and too new for this site. there are many sites for plastic cars such as Alcoholics Anonymous. lets keep this rwd metal bumpers.

Pardon me for the intrusion guy's, but where do you stand regarding the Gartrac rwd Escorts? I Love RWD, i don't care how fast a fwd car can be, it could do a 3 second quarter but i would be more content watching a beaten up mk2 Consul run a 12 sec all day long... (only until i could predict it's time to a 10th!) but with regards to mk1/2 Fiestas, they do indeed have a place but i would guess they def' do not fit in the more modern clubs consisting of Mondeos, RS and ST's etc etc... i would welcome them here rather than not at all?  However, as it is, rules are rules and i have no intention of bucking the system.

my favourite fwd drive cars, mk1 supersport and mk3 rs1600i. and ive had a mk1 xr2. but for me there are many other forums for those cars. nothing against them, i just dont like moving with the times and think OSF should stay as is.

duly noted, however, what are your thoughts to the RWD Gartrac Escorts?

im a rally fan, and to be honest there were a lot better rally cars. rs200, 3 door cosworth, and the ultimate rally car mk2 escort! was never really a fan of the mk3 rwd although it never really made it as by the time ford got it ready for use the mighty 4wd quattro kicked every car into touch and the gartrac escort was just too far behind.

Have you ever looked round a RS1700T phil ? They are one serious piece of kit. Had the pleasure getting a real good look round one at Gaydon last year. They are a bit rough and ready but obviously built for a purpose.

ah, now the age old question rears it's ugly head... RWD V FWD  in a sentence  'horses for courses,' i could say more but for fear of death threats and far too many people to fight at once! (my limit is 3 at a time!)

rwd is much better until it snows!

I’ve said this before but mk3 escort was around in 1980 same as last of mk2 escorts, well there are some 1982 mk2 escorts ,mk3 escort was discontinued in 1986 yet capri mk3 was still being registered up until 1988,so realisticly a mk3 escort is fairly oldskool similar bumpers to mk3 capri anyway metal an plastic ?
