Picked it up last Friday, but there was another one there with Accralite pistons in a box.  Did the big valve head have rimflow valves?

He's done a really nice job on the machining mind, fair play. Just got to put it all back together now. When I took my head over Friday, I showed him how the exhaust gaskets were slightly covering the ports and he gave me the bigger Felpro gaskets for free.

You having some work done on yours then?  Would definitely recommend Mike's work.

Definitely interested in how you get on at the Rolling Road. Did you ever get a run up to Moseley's in Llandeilo after?

Did you use my old 202 block. It made a respectable 106bhp  before it lost a big end !

Yes, that's the one. It certainly did lose a big end. Had to have a new rod on that cylinder as well as it had oval big end.

I remember being behind you in my daily going up the Black Rock to Highest Point and yours was pulling like a train.

Cylinder head on that 202 engine was also heavily skimmed, so must have had fairly high compression too.

Probably due to lack of oil as the sump had a hole in it.oil light kept coming on and I did thrash it showing the ST boys how it's done lol.

It was a good engine. I think 106 for a stock 2 litre pinto was good . That's how made they made em like at the factory. This engine was put together by the army.

Fingers crossed it's going to be nice when I get it running. Bigger bore and decking has been calculated to give me a CR of 10.5:1 using a Vulcan stage 1 head.

Hoping for a torquey useable road engine.

Should get a bit of time on it in the garage tomorrow night, finishing off matching the inlet manifold to head. :-)

I put some mesh over the trumpets to stop leaves getting in as well as small chaffinches.

Having a new grill and air box  made. Found a company with a new apprentice and volunteered a few jobs for the laser cutter.

Managed to get the port matching finished today.  Didn't have any Engineer's Blue, so used Copperslip. Did the job nicely.  Gasket also needed a little trim here and there too.

Suprised me how long it takes. Can see now how people say it's a long job porting a head properly.

Hopefully get back on with the engine next weekend, as it's off to Huddersfield tonight for 4 days on a Hydraulic PTO course.

Just for info - if no engineers blue available, use of a Sharpie / Magic Marker does the same job

Top tip, Cheers buddy. Will keep that one in mind for any future fettling. I reckon that would have worked a treat if I'd had one.

Did use a felt to go the opposite way on one port in through the manifold. Had a slight step on the head side and that marked it nice and clear. Little trim there and now it's lined up nicely.

Yes dt36 , it`s alot of work but a good tool can make a different , but you have already a better flow head , a injection if am right.

Yes John, it's an injection head that's been flowed by Vulcan Engineering.

He did a nice job of it be fair. Definitely made a difference when I fitted it to my current engine.
