Black 1979 mk2 RS2000 reg JDF585V was stolen between 9:45pm on Saturday 09th September 2017 & 2am on Sunday 10th September 2017 from a property on Pound Lane in Bugbrooke, Northamptonshire.

 

The car has brown fishnet Recaro interior, a sticker on the nearside rear window & a Mike Youngs RS dealer sticker in the rear window.

best thing to do when retoring an old ford now, is to do what ive done. buy a set of number and letter stamps and try and stamp every major part that you put on. so far ive done the front floors, boot floor, rear axle, front x member, gearbox, recaro seat runners, bias pedal box, and roll cage. wont stop them from taking it but will make it harder to sell parts and you will know where to look when parts are for sale!

Just been on rally sport escort forum, apparently was mentioned on there that it might have been  tracked from national rsoc day donnington, , maybe worth checking our cars if been to any car show  that nothing been attached, arches sills bumpers etc

Heard of that at Great Dorset Steam Fair one year. Someone had an old motorbike stolen from a display tent one night. The next day the owner was looking around the trade stands, picked up an item on a stall then put it down, went to the next stall, picked up another part, put it down & walked away, returning with a police officer. He pointed out the part on the first table & stated it was from his bike! When he was asked how he knew he pointed out that he had stamped every component. The bike had been stolen during the night, stripped down & the bits recovered from 3 stalls in a line!

thieving Apple Pies, if it was my bike parts i think id have set fire to the stall! always wanted to go to the dorset steam fair, looks great. ive stamped a few bits on my bike, but the escort is stamped alover with the chassis number. and i havent finished yet!
