Mk2 Fiesta engine swap..

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Looking at removing a Valencia engine from a Mk2 Fiesta and putting a 1600 771 ohv from an xr2 into it...

can it be done and a rough idea of what I need to do please.

Thanks in advance

yeah we did that years ago. pretty straight forward swap most parts just bolt straight up! obviously use mk1 xr2 exhaust and manifold. we used a mk1 xr2 donor car and used most of the parts but with a 5 speed box. use xr2 brakes and suspension too

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

It will fit with no problems then..bonus !!  I've got a 4-2-1 manifold !!

I did hear that the Valencia engine was shorter in length than the 771 ?

You will need different drive shafts as they are different length to Valencia engine.

As 771 xflow was never fitted to mk2 if in future you ever wanted to classify as historic vehicle it will be considered a modified.

unless you can get some mk1 xr2 or supersport shafts use mk2 xr2 shafts with a 5 speed.
