Not been on the forum for a year or two. Just seen that James has been ill, but good news on the recovery, Buddy.

Not used my Mk2 RS for any meets or drives out either for over two years other than two weddings I had already agreed to do for friends. I'm riding my bikes more these days on a Sunday or out in our camper van.

To that end, has anyone had any dealings with Evoke Classics for buying or selling an old car.

Their page looks good and reads well. Just wondering if anyone on here has had any real life experience with them.

my purple car has silicon fluid, again initially because of its purple colour, and ive put this in several cars now, really good, as long as you dont aerate it too much prior to bleeding

i had an under bonnet weep/leak on the DOT 4, this stripped the paint, so never again will i use DOT 4, silicon fluid doesnt harm anything, as long as the system is clean at fill, and its for life, whereas DOT 4 is Hydroscopic and sucks up water, and has a limited life as a result, i read on the net that the americans control the colour of brake fluid, and that they have colour charts that tell them how much water is in it by its colour, and it was them that banned the blue for road use

while i also agree tho, that if your gonna race the car, silicon is not for you

Wishing James a speedy recovery

https://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/topic/92581-wishing-james-a-speedy-recovery/?do=findComment&comment=1008692

Great news James, @Rally Pack 2000

	Product Details

Old Skool Ford Blue Anti-freeze Is a general-purpose antifreeze, based on mono ethylene glycol, containing no nitrites, amines or phosphates (NAP free). This is a antifreeze and summer coolant that provides maintenance free protection against freezing and boiling but also gives excellent corrosion protection in cooling systems when mixed with the appropriate amount of water.

Often used in older vehicles or applications where a modern long-life coolant is not required. Qualube Universal Blue Anti-Freeze provides a high level of cost-effective protection to cooling systems.

Typical mixtures in Northern Europe are 50/50, offering frost protection down to -40°C

	Benefits

Freeze Protection: Contains chemicals that lower the freezing point of the coolant, preventing it from solidifying in cold temperatures. This is crucial in regions with sub-zero temperatures, as it ensures that the engine coolant remains in a liquid state, preventing damage to the cooling system.

Overheat Prevention: Helps regulate the temperature of the engine by absorbing and dissipating excess heat. This prevents the engine from reaching dangerously high temperatures, reducing the risk of overheating.

Corrosion Inhibition: Contains corrosion inhibitors that help protect the metal components of the engine and cooling system from rust and corrosion. This prolongs the lifespan of the cooling system and prevents damage to critical components.

Cavitation Prevention: Cavitation occurs when bubbles form and collapse in the coolant, leading to pitting and erosion of engine surfaces. Old Skool Ford Blue Anti-freeze is fortified with additives that can help reduce cavitation, preserving the integrity of the engine.

Boiling Point Elevation: Increases the boiling point of the coolant, preventing it from boiling over in high temperature conditions. This is important for maintaining the efficiency of the cooling system, especially in demanding situations.

Efficient Cooling: Improves the efficiency of heat transfer within the engine, allowing it to absorb and dissipate heat effectively. This contributes to the overall performance and longevity of the engine.

Prevention of Hot Spots: Helps ensure even distribution of temperature throughout the engine, preventing the formation of hot spots that could lead to engine damage.

For anyone running a Pinto, Crossflow, Zetec, CVH, Cologne V6 or other classic Ford powerplant, choosing the right lubricant has never been more important. Modern oils are often formulated for today’s engines and emissions systems, making them less suited to the design, materials and operating characteristics of many classic cars’ power train. This new collaboration aims to bridge that gap.

Witham Motorsport, part of the Witham Group – British manufacturers of lubricants and paints since 1921 – has built a respected reputation within motorsport, supplying high-performance lubricants to race teams, car clubs, competitors and specialist engineering businesses throughout the UK. Their technical expertise, extensive motorsport involvement and commitment to product development made them a natural fit for Old Skool Ford.

The partnership was initiated through OSF member and journalist Mark Scott (aka VistaEstate), who had previously worked with Witham Group and experienced first-hand the company’s technical knowledge, customer support and product quality on his Mk1 Escort and Mk1 Cortina. From those initial discussions grew a shared vision: to create a lubricant range developed specifically with classic Ford enthusiasts in mind.

The result is a new OSF-branded product range featuring specialist engine oils, gear oils, brake fluid and the trusted blue antifreeze long favoured by classic vehicle owners.

Each product has been carefully selected and approved to meet the demands of classic Ford applications, whether you’re preserving a cherished show car, building a fast-road spec, campaigning a race car, or simply enjoying weekend drives. The range has been developed to provide optimum wear protection, thermal stability and reliable performance across a wide variety of classic Ford engines and drivetrains.

By combining Witham Motorsport’s lubrication heritage with Old Skool Ford’s unrivalled understanding of the vehicles we all love, this new range delivers a dependable, technically sound solution that enthusiasts can trust both on the road and on the track.

	Exclusive Member Benefits

As part of the partnership, OSF members can enjoy an exclusive 10% discount on purchases made online or over the phone using the code: OSF01

The discount applies not only to the new OSF range but also across the entire Witham Group product portfolio, including lubricants, greases, paints, coatings, workshop products, cleaning solutions and rust prevention treatments.

Richard Scarbrough, Director, Witham Motorsport commented:

We are thrilled to be partnering with Old Skool Ford and supporting one of the UK’s most passionate and knowledgeable classic car communities. Whether members are restoring, maintaining or racing their vehicles, we look forward to providing the technical support and specialist products needed to keep these fantastic Fords performing at their best.

Mark Scott, Old Skool Ford, commented:

Old Skool Ford has always been about helping enthusiasts get the very best from their cars. Working with Witham Motorsport has allowed us to develop a product range that genuinely understands the needs of classic Ford owners. It’s not simply putting a logo on a can – it’s about providing products backed by real technical knowledge, motorsport experience and a genuine commitment to our community.
