  15. Well, this is basically the final update to this thread! The car has within the last hour completed a setup and dyno session. It arrived with ProTuner on Friday, and they were brilliant. As promised they went through a lot of prechecks before even considering starting it, including cam timing checks, compression test, induction leaks, fuel pressure checks. This was all fine, and they proceeded to map it. This included an additional day so they could properly setup cold start. Right at the beginning of this thread i explained i wasnt chasing numbers, simply reliability, and that is still t

  25. It's a longish one but stick with it. A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She reduced altitude and spotted a man below. She descended a bit more and shouted: "'Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago but I don't know where I am". The man below replied "You're in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You're between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude". "You must be a technician." said the balloonist. "I am" replied the man "how did you know?" "Well," answ

  28. the shell is really starting to come together now....fitting the full panel sections has proved to be a great plan....it saves so much work fitting smaller sections and finishing joints etc.... as a mk2 lower bulkhead panel was fitted, the mk2 pedal box and heater box were trial fitted and look good....the plan is to run the much better mk2 heater box, and mod the mk1 heater controls and cables to work with it ....

  29. As promised, power graph and also a dyno video! Also although the car did produce a max of 180hp, it was dialled back to 177 for smoothness. Ive just had the first drive and its much fun IMG_0811.MP4

  30. Got the mk2 out today. Engine run in and settled down after some initial concerns. Good run over the Brecon beacons and Fochriw. Car is much better with fr30 cam and now running a 38dgms jetted and set up for 2.0 pinto. Thrashed the arse off it.

  31. Hi Mark1. For years I've wondered what happened to WEX 460M. I have often over the years typed in that reg on gov.co website hoping that one day it will be back on the road, couldn't quite believe it when I saw it had been mot'd again! So last week I joined a group called find my old car, i put a post up asking if anyone knew of its whereabouts and someone posted a picture of it now with a link, I could not believe it! Yesterday I joined oldskoolford hoping to see a few more pictures of it. Absolutely blown away by what you have done to it, well done, its stunning. I brought the car in about

  32. Some great cars in this thread. Heres my little MK1 Escort. It was a wedding present from my wife, a complete surprise. Ive added the JBW wheels, Stainless Steel Bumpers, Sapphire Cosworth front and rear seats, front splitter (graphics were already on it). Recently I painted the engine bay, under the bonnet, underneath the car and in the arches and the leaf springs and all the suspension. Great fun car which I enjoy whether driving it or working on it

  33. Another week and a bit more done. The fuel system is complete now, the nylon braided teflon lines are all in up to the regulator which i have had to put on the o/s inner wing due to the throttle bodies making bulkhead mounting difficult. The outlet from the tank will suffice for now, but i have the technical drawings back for an adaptor, I'm just waiting on making an order as i need to order 10 @25 a go! The cooling hoses arrived from RF, makes life very simple to be honest as everything just fits. The heater matrix pipes were the only slightly tricky part as where the copper matrix pipes

  36. I actually hid the thread you were referring to. Firstly it wasn't really a topic thread at all but a personal message to another forum member about some parts who hadn't responded to you in a timely fashion. Of which personal messaging would have been the more appropriate method of contact. Secondly the forum member in question obviously did contact you privately at some point to say that circumstances had changed and they were unavailable or changed their mind for whatever reason. You then continued the thread with a deprecating public response (similar in tone to this one) about h

  38. For Christmas i was given one of those track day experience vouchers. If you dont know, they are a code you are given to enter into a website, click on the experience, pick a date and venue and off you go. I was given an opportunity to drive 3 star cars around castle combe. The cars from the list included the original bat mobile, fast and furious cars, general lee dodge charger, starsky and hutch ford Torino, mustang gt500 eleanor from gone in 60 seconds. Plus some bond cars and Ferrari's and so on. I picked the general lee charger, GT40 and one other car which didnt run on the day

  40. I’ve done the repair, etch primed and primed just needs some top coat now, looking underneath it still has the original floor pans but has had repairs to inner sills so will be left as is! Plate made and ready to be welded looks better in the flesh I’ve got a bit carried away and pulled the engine and box out! Bought a 1.6 pinto which will have a check and get new bearings and repaint, then fit the original 4 speed back in whilst the engine is out I’ll give the engine bay a clean maybe straighten the heater bowl up a little and maybe repaint the front crossmember,
