  1. Thank you, is this person able to work to an extremely high standard and modify a sump pan which must be 100% straight and level when the cutting, welding and associated fabrication is complete? Regards
  2. Hello Hope someone is able to assist. Does anyone know of a specialist sump modification person/company/fabricator/engineer, who would have the skills to modify a sump for me? I would like to find a person or company able to work to a very high standard as I need this modification to be of high quality. Would appreciate any recommendations or assistance that anyone may have to offer. Thank you
  3. Hello Does anyone have any information or knowledge of a chap called Jim Zail? Possibly American or Australian and we think he produced some specialist parts including oil sumps and or modifications to oil sumps. Would appreciate any relevant information that anyone may have. Thank you.
  4. Wanted Rear Bowl Sump Wide bowl Crossflow / Twin Cam sump, must be rear bowl, therefore suitable for MK 1 Escort. I do not really want a big wing sump simply, a rear bowl sump with the wider base than the standard Crossflow 1600 sump. Must be in very good condition. Please call me with details. Contact 07513 138512 Thank you
  5. Lotus Twin Cam Cylinder Head - £1,250 Lotus twin cam cylinder head complete with cam caps and cam shaft bearings. Fitted with collisbro bronze guides and new hard valve seats. This cylinder head has been prepared to use very large valves ie. 1.625 inlet and 1.4 exhaust. Whilst I am not an engineer or engine builder the ports appear beautifully smooth. When this head was fitted with the above size valves and QED 420 cam shafts it made approximately 147 BHP on the dyno. The engine was then stripped and the internals used with a brand new Ford block and brand new cylinder head to build a new engine. The cylinder head has cam studs, exhaust studs and inlet studs fitted. Photographs are available upon request. £1,250 Location Scunthorpe Contact 07513 138512 Collection in person with cash payment only please.
  6. Ford Crossflow Cylinder Block 711M 6015BA £190 Ford crossflow block (bare) 711M. This block has been bored to fit 84mm pistons and was run for 45 minutes only on the dyno. Could obviously be bored to suit 85mm pistons and make yourself a powerful crossflow or twin cam engine. This sale is for the bare block only (no cam shaft, crank shaft, rods, or pistons etc). This should make someone a very strong engine for their classic Ford. Reason for sale, change in direction for my engine build. Obviously collection only and cash upon collection. No postage. Photos are available upon request. Contact 07513 138512 £190 Location Scunthorpe
  7. Ford Escort MK 1 Fuel Tank £40 Ford Escort MK 1 fuel tank, recently removed from my MK 1 Escort and in very good condition. Please view the photographs and you will see how good this is compared with the usual items offered for sale. The two top mounting bolt holes and bottom, rear mounting bolt hole are in excellent condition, however, there is as usual a rusted area around the bottom front mounting bolt hole, this is still able to be bolted up and there would be no problem whatsoever in bolting this tank in place and having it perfectly secure (there is no rust on the tank itself). Complete with fuel sender, breather pipe and fuel outlet at the base. Study the photographs, you will see that the base of the tank is painted with protective oil which obviously could be cleaned off if you wish, that would be your choice. There are small dents in the tank, these are unlikely to be an issue to anyone. Removed from the car and for sale only due to the fitting of a aluminium fuel tank. Obviously, this is light in weight but quite large in size and I have no means of packing this, indeed it could possibly be damaged in transit therefore collection in person only please. Following payment you could of course arrange your own courier however, this would be at entirely at your own risk. Contact 07513 138512 Location Scunthorpe
  8. Hello once again. Where do I find a private message?
  9. Hello Thank you for your response however, as a person unaccustomed to using this site, I do not know what you are referring to. Orchid

  12. Hello all, Does anyone know what a alloy 4 cylinder block would have originally been used for? The block I ask about has 4 bolt main caps. It is alloy, it is linered and I wonder what would a block of this type originally been used for. Was it made by Ford or someone after market? Thank you
  13. Hello again and to continue with this topic if I may. If I am able to locate one of these 2 litre cast iron blocks and indeed am able to purchase same, how difficult is it likely to be to locate forged pistons of a suitable size (circa 90mm) ? What rods would I then use to avoid the removal of too much metal from the deck of the valuable block? I looked today at Burtons website and indeed there are alloy blocks of this size available for around 4K. There is something about a cast iron block that "feels appropriate" to a fast road engine fitted to a MK 1 Escort. I am not yet fixed on the type of cylinder head I will use however, it is likely to be Lotus twin cam. What are your thoughts on the use of a Lotus twin cam head when using the above mentioned 2 litre cast block, in terms of its suitability / drivability? Thank you again.
  14. Hello all, Please keep any interesting and or useful information coming on this subject. We think BeigeAl is a particularly knowledgable contributor to this forum and one of the best comments we have seen on any forum was the polite reprimand to a fellow contributor to "keep up at the back", that was superb and made us smile. To correct an understandable preconception earlier in this conversation, I am female, driving a twin cam Escort, whatever next!! Thank you all once again, please keep the info coming.
  15. Hello once again and thank you for that. Any ideas at all where I may find / purchase an Ashcroft / Cosworth circa 2 litre cast iron block? If so what is your opinion as to its possible / probable cost? Finally, what choice of cylinder head would I be able to consider using in conjunction with this block? Thank you
