  1. Just more things to go wrong eventually in my opinion. All these cars are ok when new but in the future the second hand market could end up paying big bucks to replace failing technology I fear.
  2. https://www.gov.uk/historic-vehicles/apply-for-vehicle-tax-exemption This should help. Mine's T reg 1979 and I did mine a few years ago.
  3. Very kind of you I had a lovely day. Hope you are all keeping well? (apologies for the late reply 😳)
  4. Mine is agreed value with Coops for Β£25k. Deffo needs a paint job and more. Mine doesn't look as clean as yours either so you deffo need to up it to Β£30k.

Vista (OSF) are DVLA recognised to be able to help with this
  6. Happy birthday Scott aka Vista. Hope you're having a splendid day πŸΊπŸŽˆπŸŽ‚β˜€οΈ
  7. You're absolutely right. I think it's just in my head that it's safer rather than it being a power adder. The car is mapped for normal fuel.
  8. I also heard that from a friend who was a tanker driver! I use super from Shell/Esso/Tesco or wherever else i can get it although have been told by my tuner (my other half :D) that I can just use normal 95ron ... prefer the super though (just in case).

    Garage Heaters

Check out this thread from a few months ago
  10. Welcome back Mike! The forum has changed massively since back in the day but still lots of information on here 😊
  11. My youngest son has a LR Defender and has just had a BMW X5 engine installed in it - there's a guy that converted it all professionally including providing the refurbed engine etc and my son sent off his V5 with an engine size change and has just had is V5 returned (with original engine size still on it) and he has to get an engineer's report before sending it back to them to change it.

    Garage Heaters

My other half has this in his garage. It's REALLY good and heats very well. He also is able to run it on red diesel which is much cheaper. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-5KW-4-Holes-Air-Diesel-Night-Heater-LCD-Monitor-Remote-Trucks-Boats-Car-home/254790054391?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&fbclid=IwAR2KDTkcTC8kkjvbt7m3h5-F1Yk3gWlLMcS_zxBLKd8d4a4oL1UusMuT_iY He uses a car battery hooked up to a trickle charger to power the heater (other option is to buy a mains to 12V power supply that can do about 20 amps which then becomes expensive). Big enough to heat the garage of this size:

    Black plates

I've had black and silver plates on my Mk2 Rs for years illegally but now they'll be legal ... woohoo 😊
  14. I got mine sorted a few months ago. Really easy to do and got the new blue logbook back within a week or so …. can't see (other than the colour of the log book) that it says historic anywhere though but I am not exempt so I don't care lol
  15. Wishing Scott aka Vista a very Happy 50th Birthday!!! 😘 Hope you have a great lockdown birthday with the family πŸΊπŸœπŸΊπŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸŽˆπŸŽˆ
  16. Ed - If you are on F.ace.book try looking up South Coast Classic Fords - Martyn who runs it may be able to help.
  17. Merry Christmas everyone! May you all receive the gifts you've asked for and may 2020 bring happiness, good health and car shows ... Jo
  18. We were not in competition with the VW racers, we were just invited guests racing against the other cars. As for the actual OSFDC round 5 (which is what this event was for us) Darren Scannell came first, Steve Brown came 2nd and Colin Dowling came 3rd but that won't mean anything if you don't follow the racing full information can be found on the Old Skool Ford Drag Challenge Book of Face page https://www.facebook.com/OSFDC/ or in Classic Ford Magazine where we have full coverage of every round. I stopped putting information on our Drag pages on here because I got absolutely no response which is fine if no-one is interested .. but .. it is still part of OSF and I wanted to say that it is another trophy awarded to the club and it's racers.
  19. Good Morning lovely OSF people Just thought I would update you on recent events with the Old Skool Ford Drag Challenge (OSFDC) …. each year we are invited guests at VW Action, a huge VW show at Santa Pod. Well, with 21 racers at our round 5 event we were happy to accept a trophy which was voted for by the VW Action organisers as best visiting club. This trophy is awarded each year and we have been inducted into the VW Hall of Fame - a great honour Anyway, here is the trophy.
  20. I'll give the bidding a miss boys as I already have a black one ….
  21. Absolutely well done to Chris then Some very nice cars in attendance!
