  1. Only the gearbox left. The MT75 is the gearbox that superceeded the T5 on the Sierra RS Cosworth and is essentially bulletproof (much, much stronger than a Type 9). It has a cast in bell housing but will fit most Ford 4-bangers (Pinto, YB, Zetec). I have a concentric slave cylinder that I will chuck in with it. Wanting £50. Collection would be preferred (because palletising would cost as much as the box), but would be willing to pallet up for collection by courier, buyer to organise.
  2. The single leafs are 60mm wide. I'd do them posted for £50. Sorry for the delay, I've not been feeling too good.
  3. Does anybody know of any couriers that will carry heavier items? The quote I received for the English axle was £136!!!!
  4. There was definitely no whining coming from the diff when it was in my Escort. There is a bit of 'slop' in the movement, but only as much as you'd expect with a used diff (prop input moves no more than 5 degrees before the hubs turn). I reckon that rebuilding with a new crush washer will eliminate the vast majority of this. I can't vouch for the CWP because it's never been apart. I'm awaiting quotes on delivery because of the size and weight.
  5. I need to get rid of the whole thing, it's taking too much room up in my garage and slowing the project. I think I'd find it hard to get rid of just the casing. How much were you willing to offer for the diff only?
  6. ALL SOLD EXCEPT THE MT75 GEARBOX. Wanting £50 I have the following for sale: 2.0L Silvertop block (bottom end just been machined with new rings and bearings) 2 Silvertop cylinder heads (one has been modified to accept the RS Turbo exhaust manifold that is fitted) A Rover turbo inlet manifold with zetec adapter plate (the best flowing manifold for a turbo application) A set of 4 C20LET forged pistons (the block would need a rebore and the conrods would need machining to accept the larger gudgeon pins - but it's THE best way to lower compression without bodging with a decompression plate) An MT75 gearbox from a Sierra Colmworth (the successor to the T5 and bulletproof) All in very good condition This lot stands me at £400, want £300 for the lot. A cheap way to big turbo power for your RWD Ford. Only selling because I have an option on a cheap V8. Will split if absolutely necessary (contact me for separate prices), but would prefer it all to go in one. Will post photos when I've dug it all out of the back of the garage. Will pallet and courier (will quote if needed) but would prefer collection. Parts located near Selby, North Yorkshire.
  7. ALL SOLD EXCEPT THE SINGLE LEAFS - will do for £50 posted. Due to my project being V8 powered my English axle is not man enough for the job so it's up for sale. It's a 3.54 ratio, has 9" drums, 1" spacers and all the handbrake mechanism and all the hydraulic components still attached. Wanting £100 ono My project is being coilover converted so I have a pair of inboard Bilstein shocks for sale with all rubber boots and bushes evident, which are in excellent condition with no leaks etc. Wanting £50 ono Coilovers mean I have no need for my single leaf springs. All bushes, shackles and bolts are attached. In good condition. Wanting £50 ono 2" lowering blocks, long U-bolts and plates, all in good condition. Wanting £20 ono Will courier if required (will quote separately if needed), but would prefer collection. Parts located near Selby, North Yorkshire. Cheers
  8. ALL SOLD! Hi, I am selling some bits off my Mk2 Escort. I am currently doing a project which includes lightening the car where possible. My glass, bonnet and boot lid are all surplus to requirements. The boot lid is mint and comes with a spoiler fitted. There is no rust evident, in fact the only thing wrong with it is that the spoiler lifts at one end by a couple of mm (but this never bothered me). In the pictures the lock and Escort badge are on it, these will NOT be included in the sale. I am unsure what this is worth but the first person to offer me near £50 gets it. The bonnet is also in very good condition with a little surface rust underneath but nothing crusty, a bit of sanding and painting would make it mint. In the photos you can see that the bonnet has bonnet pins fitted, these will be included in the sale along with the pin posts. I am unsure what this is worth but the first person to offer me near £50 gets it. I have a full set of glass to suit a 2 door with front quarters. All the glass is mint, the windscreen even comes with an Old Skool Ford sticker across the top. Unsure whether the rear window heater works as it was never wired up in my car so assume it doesn't and if it does it's a bonus. The wind down runners bonded to the bottom of the door windows has a little surface rust but this is not deep and a bit of wire brushing and TLC will see them mint. Again I'm unsure what this little lot is worth, was hoping for £100 for the lot, but am open to offers for single pieces (although I'd prefer to get rid of the lot in a one-er). Can provide pictures of the glass if required, but being glass they won't really show much. All items are cash on collection from my house near Selby, North Yorkshire. I do work in Wakefield so could arrange to meet you there too. If you are questioning whether to buy PM me with an offer, you might be surprised. Cheers Neil
  9. Do it! Look s alright to me, it's different and if you like the idea, why would you not?
  10. Just had the same problem mate. Their customer service is non existent. Mine have apparently been dispatched, but I aren't holding my breath. Won't be using them again!!!! Did your parts turn up?
  11. Just had 'confirmation' that they have dispatched my panels, however on past performance I aren't holding my breath. Either way I won't be using them again!!!
  12. Has anyone used Rally & Restoration Panels UK in Rochdale? They've had £150 of mine for a month now and have not sent me a thing. I've tried ringing and emailing on numerous occasions but can't contact them, I think they're taking me for a ride. Just wanted to know if anyone has had a similar experience with them? Cheers
  13. Darren, I've had the same dilemma myself. My car's currently got a BMW M42 engine in (1.8 16v), but I thought I'd go back to Ford and purchased some Zetec bits (for sale BTW) with a view to turboing it up. My mates got a 302 V8 he wanted me to put in so I thought about that and I also thought about supercharging the BMW M44 (1.9 16v) engine I have in the garage. My decision? The BMW engines are good solid units, my car is already set up for one and they use Gartrag gearboxes as standard so the forged crank is coming out of the M42, going into the M44 with a set of forged rods and pistons and wild cams and I'm gonna aim for 220 n/a bhp with a stratospheric rev limit. Escorts were made to be 4 pot screamers (BDG and 10,000rpm anyone!) so that's what it's getting. Might not win a game of top trumps down the pub but I'll be able to use all of the power most of the time. Turbos or superchargers come with increased cost (inlet piping, intercoolers, dump valves, boost controllers etc etc) on the top of n/a. To cut a long story short, put whatever you want in that does the job for you and don't jump on any bandwagon.
  14. A powerlock diff for my salisbury axle, a four link kit, a watts linkage kit, rear strut turrets,a set of rear coilovers and a rear disc conversion. Now I know it sounds a lot for a grand but it's do-able if you shop smart and do the work yourself. Need to change the English axle before I double the power.
  15. I'd of had it off ya when you offered but it was built for straights and I like the twisties Oh yeah and I couldn't fit in my poxy single garage
  16. I must say Ady, you are remarkably calm about all this. That's the best way though cos as Stiggy says, there are a lot of tyre kickers and time wasters out there in it for themselves. I try to stay away from Ebay if possible, but sometimes it's a necessary evil. Good luck with the search for something else mate.
  17. Just fit some new wheels after a school boy error (well that's what I told the missus). I recently fitted a Caprisport GTR280 front brake conversion, went to put my 15" alloys back on and they fouled the calipers. I looked on the Caprisport website and sure enough it states the wheels need to be at least 7" wide....mine were 6....bugger! I was then forced to buy some new 15x8 Revolution 5 spokes to cover them (hence telling the missus my intentional mistake was a school boy error.....ahem). Anyway, here are a couple of pics....whadaya think?
  18. Administrators: Loving the automatic substitutes; making love = King, pleasuring yourself = Apple Pie.........genius! PMSL
  19. My view, for what it's worth: Whilst I haven't met any of you face to face (yet), you all seem a good bunch and are into cars for the same reason most petrolheads are (love of cars, meeting like minded people, the satisfaction that comes from keeping/modifying an older car etc etc). There are definately 2 sects to 'the car scene' - there are real petrolheads (like us) and then there are the shitheads who buy branded products (HKS etc) and go for peak horsepower over drivability, the type of knobhead who spends £10k on getting 600bhp before spending a bean on brakes, suspension etc to match.....these people are not petrolheads, they are oxygen thieves (the type of person at this meet by the looks of things)!! I have been on many forums over the years and this is by far the most friendly, with 'sensible' people on it, who know what they are talking about. You like to drive the way the cars are modified to do (i.e. quick), but know the limits i.e. why do 60 through a 30 zone (which are generally there to protect kids etc), why act up in front of crowds where a momentary lapse of concentration could end your life (jail) and somebody else's (death) etc etc. Many other forums are full of people who quote marketing bullshit to make it look like they know what they are on about, modify by getting someone else to do it for them by throwing shit loads of money at it etc. I have chosen to stay away from these sites (generally the Japanese scene - in my experience) because it winds me up. Regarding Old Skool Ford; can we not register it as a 'not for profit organisation' and therefore register the name (perhaps even register it as a trademark)? This way anyone using the name without permission would be breaking the law and deleting posts from Retards Club (another crock of shite site in my opinion) would be the least of their worries. I am a qualified accountant (not a stereotypical one - before you all have a King dig) and would be happy to discuss the formalities of my idea with the site administrators and other professional members (lawyers etc) who could bring constructive knowledge to the party. In short, I am a Ford man, have been forever and like this site and everything it stands for. I don't want to see it dragged into disrepute through the antics of some chav Apple Pies. If we need to go 'official' then so be it. Thoughts?
  20. Wow the guy who recommended this site must be a cracking fella. Bet he's a good looking bugger with both intelligence and charisma in spades Glad to see you on here mate, now let's get that bloody engine in before Ford Fair in August!!
  21. Have a look at my post on this thread: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=127344 That should work for ya.
