I'm in the process of trying to document all the old Fords from my past into a blog. I'll post a link here when it's finished but I thought I'd share a few of the 30+ I've owned over the last 31 years. My first love is Capris but I've owned both Escorts and Cortinas, vans, track cars, low mileage granny spec to bodged V8 projects.,,I have owned just about every thing from the RWD ford stable that was available in Australia from about 69-82 and a few later ones. Now I'm living back in the UK, I'm reducing my fleet (which was upto 8 cars at one stage) to 2 classics and a daily. Here a few of them....starting with one I only owned for a few months. This mk1 Escort will be known to the Australian members. Built by a group of guys from the RSOC in Victoria, I bought it as a shell with hopes of housing a hot pinto I just happened to have lying around. Unfortunately, running a small business (as I did at the time) involves paying taxes to the government (apparently) so when my tax bill came up this particular year this poor Escort drew the short straw. The car was sold back to an RSOC member who did return it to the track but sadly the car was involved in a terminal accident. Fortunately a roll cage I sourced for the car was employed and the driver walked away shaken but not stirred.

Chasing an original 19mm front anti-roll bar for my Mk1 Capri. The stupid shipping company when I imported the car thought it was a good idea to winch the car in gear using it as a towing point. Tried bending it straight but now the car has a huge vibration on deceleration and is making the car unsafe to drive. i have a 2.8i anti-roll bar and brackets if anyone wants to swap. Im based in Derbyshire and will travel to collect if not willing to post. I need fairly urgently as I have an all new front end I want to fit prior to Summer. PM if you can help out. Cheers Glenn

Hi, My name is Kate and I work for a media production company. We are making an advert for Admiral Insurance which will be aimed entirely at classic car owners. We want to film with genuine classic car owners and share their stories about what it means to own an ' Old Skool Ford'. We want to capture a sense of nostalgia and really capture the reasons why owning a classic car is so special and all the little things you do to enjoy it, whether that's going to rallys, meeting up with other owners in you local area or even just giving you car a rub down once a month. I am looking to connect with people who are interested in sharing their stories with us and taking part in our filming. We are looking for cars ranging from the mid 50's - mid 80's and with a value of anywhere between £5k and £65k..so I would be looking for Ford Escorts Mk1,2 and 3, Ford Capri and the Ford Grenada. If you would like to get in touch please drop me a line on here or at me email - kate@gingenious.com Thanks Kate

Hi guys, I am after a rear anti roll bar to fit an atlas axle. Any should do although off a 2.8 is preferred. It's for my Mk1 pre facelift that I've fitted a new axle with lsd in but the axle is from a facelift not pre facelift and so uses a rear anti roll bar as apposed to anti tramp bars that mine was using. I'm guessing that a rear anti roll bar should bolt straight up to this axle and the location points on my chassis should be the same? Because of this I will also need the U clamps to secure it to the axle. Thanks! Luke

Hey guys, new to this I'm on a search for my old Capri, it's a 1984 reg; A93O MNG I live in Norwich, I've heard rumours of it still being around Norfolk done the check on it hasn't been written off or anything but unfortunately it hasn't been taxed or MOT'ed for 10 years now I'm guessing it's rotting somewhere or in someone's garage gathering dust, if anyone has any links or leads on where it could be... Would be very interested in where it is and also want it back! Aiming to restore it if I can get it back as I've just finished my last resoration.. So I'm bored now ahah would be very cool to have back my second car if anyone knows where it is or if it's knocking about please let me know cheers guys! Have a great day! ~! Julien

I am selling my mk2 Capri 3.0s. She has mk3 bonnet and lights but the wings are mk2 but had some fibre glass added to bridge the gap and then sprayed. You wouldn't notice to look at it as its such a good job but it could easily be removed it you want to revert to mk2. This is a really nice car. its solid, no rust and no rot, she turns heads everywhere she goes and sounds great with no rear silencers. The v6 essex and 4 speed box are in great shape. I have recently had the core plugs replaced, fitted a new kenlowe electric fan and thermostat boss that fits inside the hose and is very accurate. She has 2.8i legs and princess 4 pot callipers and these work great even when hot, this is by far the best stopping Capri I have owned. Axle location fit kitted, goodridge hose, pollybushes. Rare cadiz interior too, all tyres in great shape as are the wheels. I fitted a new heater matrix only to find the resistor wasnt working, a cheap and easy fix! Recently re-cored big header Rad too. A few marks on the body but nothing that made me want to rush out and get a respray, no dents or scrapes. 3.0s Capris are rising in value fast and the mk2 is the rarest one. This car has been kept inside a temperature controlled workshop for 99% of the time since 1999 and was only used for the track in previous years occasionally. The battery is fitted in the boot as at that time the car was fitted with a chevy v8. The car is also lowered -1. This is a great fun car to drive with the long gears and torque from the essex pulling through all gearsy, also it holds the road better than any other Capri I have owned. You really need to come and see it, hear it and drive it! £10500 ono Any other information just ask as I have probably forgotten a few things. Car is located in Dagenham.

Hi, Just wondered if anyone else here has a Capri 280 Brooklands?
-
FOR SALE, no swaps. Lots of work done by previous owner and a little by me. Its definitely not your thing if you want it looking standard! 2.0 Pinto engine (1600 on log book), K&N filter, spare identical carburettor, spare alternator, various other little bits, door sill trim. 60k miles T&T (running out soon but will get it done again if I still have it - will fly through apart from front tyres probably) Flat black spray job, including engine bay in green before I bought it. Sunroof Genuine Autoplas side window louvres (with release key) Windows have reg no. etched Rear leaf springs replaced, along with polybushes, and have longer shackles which raised the car by 1.5" (for the fat chrome wheels in the pic, which are now removed), but standard shackles also included. Wheels are the 15" black Lenso (BBS style) ones with polished rims. 2 good Avon tyres, fronts need replacing. New battery. New rear brake shoes and pistons. Brakes are good. Black interior, including centre console which previous owner had a big stereo in, so just a space at the mo. Alarm and immobiliser, non standard door locks fitted. No bumpers No boot parcel shelf Side repeater indicators Nothing to mention rust wise, just the odd bit of flaking here and there. Single headlights installed, but still have the twin headlights with surrounds and grill. 2 sets of rear lights (one set black tint) 4 point rear seat belt harnesses Starts well, goes well, drives pretty straight, stops well. Bad bits: Boot keyhole has been removed and filled over - did have electronic release which broke, so now has cable release accessed from front of car. Rear window heater wire not connected. Rear wiper works intermittently. Glovebox flap removed (included), but needs hinges. If I was going to keep it I would polybush the whole thing. Will add more photos soon... £1900 ono. Putney, London.

Hi, I was recently in touch with a gentleman called "Turbo Mike" on capri laser forum website about renting his capri for my wedding next year, but have been unable to get any response from him for a couple of months. I saw that he advertises this website in his signature, so I was wondering whether he would pick this up. If not, does any one else know of anyone who would be willing to rent their capri for a couple of days in July next year in Dorset? It is my dream to arrive at my wedding in a capri! If anyone could help then that would be great - either in regards to Turbo Mike or capri rental! Thanks! Kirsty

Thinking of putting discs on an Anglia, then these are ideal as was the usual way of getting disc brakes on a Ford Anglia back in the 60s/70s. Not the usual rusty relic's but will need a bit of work before use as have been standing a while. Included are the lot top mounts, springs, struts, huds, bearings, discs, back plates etc only missing the brake calipers. Looking for £100 the pair message me I am in Kent or can arrange delivery around M25 by agreement. thanks Brendan

Wanted - Atlas Mk1 Capri rear axle. 50 inch Mk1, not the 52" Mk2 onwards. Would prefer complete axle with 3.44 diff, but would also be interested in case, CWP or halfshafts to suit. I believe this axle was fitted to some 2.0 and all 3.0 models?. Diff ratios varied.

Does anyone know what label / sticker was used to denote that a Capri was a special order. I understand that labels were attached to the inner wings but haven't been able to trace any - can anyone help - either with a picture or dimensions please
