Stu_B
What a sweet little car. Dont see many of those anymore, a few rusting away under trees though. Cheers mate, unfortunatly mine also seems to be rusting away! It's been stood for a year which really has done it NO good! Poking around yesterday Easily sorted though, got a welder mate coming to look at it, he's my local MOT tester too so should all be ok!

Stu_B
Well it's driving Taken it round the block a few times, most of the niggly problems solved, it'll be going off to the garage to be welded/MOT'd this week Also stopped by RichieRich's. He's just had his escy back from some repair work & was waxoiling it Been a busy car week with wheels day, a trip to the Haynes motor museum etc. Was feeling inspired so I thought I'd open the garage & look at the 'tina ... Oh dear
Stu_B
Took it out for a spin last night Only had 1/4 throttle to begin with as the return spring on the weber linkage was fouling, sorted that on the roadside & it goes bloody well! Not sure if it's the solid ride & the noise but it felt quick & put a massive grin on my face Didn't get a proper vid, just this Driving it to the MOT this afternoon, can't wait! Stu_B
Had a chap come to give me a quote on the welding last night. it's a local coachworks & I've heard really good things about the company (although I've not seen any of the work first hand) he looked around, gave me a good price & then we chatted cars a bit. He's a hotrodder but knew his stuff about old fords so I'm happy to send the car to him, it's a fair bit of money but they're gonna do a proper job, engine out, bulkhead mods etc should be back with me at the end of July

Stu_B
Bay resprayed & engine refitted: Then it was dropped home. I removed the doors & windscreen & started to refit the old wings. I had bought some new wings but decided to refit the old ones which meant loads of fibreglass repairs - eurgh! Plenty of choice Bulkhead chopped out to clear carbs: Windscreen out: Aligning wings:

I know what you mean about the last one! This ones already got decent suspension, engine etc. My old one was a good base but would have cost loads to get sorted with a decent engine & running gear. I got a really good deal (well I think so) it came to under a grand including the engine bay respray. It was done by a small local company who specialise in things like this as well as beetles, campers & hotrods! There's even a Lamborghini countach (replica) & they're doing a 2dr mk1 escort at the moment.
