recently finished mk1 project

Recommended Posts

heres my xe powered mk1 project which has been going on for the last five years on and off. some distractions like drifting etc got in the way but i finally got it completed for this summer season.

brief spec, standard xe rebuilt with fast road 270 cams, 45 dellortos and mbe igition, t9 5spd, english axle with tran-x lsd. standard 1100 shell with mex dash panel grafted in, tramp bars fitted and of course mex wings, bought the wings at ford fair 03 for 350 quid (those were the days!!)

it runs a bias pedal box with wilwoods up front, fiesta callipers on back and hidden hyd hand brake setup. the basic plan was to build nice clean looking car which looks fairly innocent from outside with decent running gear. i like my clean look engine bays so i went to a lot of trouble to hide as many ancilleries as possible, ie wiring loom, brake resivors, coil pack, throttle linkage etc. certainly makes it easier to clean!!

anyway, enough talk! heres some pics.

Really nice, can i ask what was involved in converting to mk2 switchgear??

i was going for a custom loom anyway so it didnt matter bout plugs as we just used mk2 ones. the column itself wasnt too bad. ive got some pics ill post later.
