hmmmm.....opinions on this blatantcy?

I confess that I thought the stand alone sale of V5Cs was something the DVLA already prohibited

All DVLA are interested in is The Registered Keeper so they can send fines, renewals and notices to them.

As previously mentioned it appears EBay no longer have the "report" icon that stated "identification advertised without a vehicle" so it looks like they no longer can be RSed !

The thing that shocked me over on that forum is the number of members who are openly involved in this type of thing. One guy just sold what amounts to a roof skin with rear quarters for £1200 not forgetting the Mexico V5 and tags. :(:

Rallye sport escort forum. One or two members post up ebay log book sales and report them. And end up getting shouted down by the rest who don't care or are at it themselves.

Please link to the classified (not a "linked to" advert) advert on my site where a Mexico V5 was sold under the disguise of a roof skin for sale

I am only human and if such a thread exists I will remove it immediately

As for others "shouting people down" then free speech is allowed but personal attack is not BUT please prove it that as you quoted "the rest" "are at it themselves" !

I have answered your concerns via a PM on your website with a link to the sale i commented on. Plus a link to the other thread in which certain members openly post about V5 sales they have made.Though these obviously go on without open ads on your site.

Non of my comments were directed at your website, more at certain users of the site. So i wont be retracting any comments. Perhaps i should put links to the threads in question on here then OSF members can make up there own minds about the conduct of members on your site.

No need as I will put up the "advert" that is concerning you

http://bbs.rallyesportescorts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=64755

Sean is the biggest wind-up merchant from The Emerald Isle and there are many members of O/S/F who also know what Sean is like

He is also part of the second thread that you bought to my attention and he has great pleasure in stirring the spoon within that thread as well

NOTE :- Also a very interesting comment from Escort-Tec within the thread as well

http://bbs.rallyesportescorts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=64803

I am sorry but until such time as DVLA tighten up their own procedures then V5 sales will continue along on its merry pace and now Ebay "appears" to allow such ads by means of "not allowing them to be reported".

Unless websites such as ours continue not to allow Classified Ads for V5's then many "innocent" parties will continue buying "shells with other numbers applied" just as FORD did for years with The Works Escorts.

NOTE :-

Just to show what sean is like here is his "advert" for Works Escort ZF, 2 x shells and lots more spares !

http://bbs.rallyesportescorts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=64932

and take your pick - 2 x different FORD Rallye Team Cars with same reg

Can't view either of those threads as I'm not a member of RSE but let's not let it spill over into any further disagreement on here. Clearly the policy of RSE is the same as ours, and as it should be on any classic car forum. i.e. no sales of V5C documents nor any thinly disguised sales of the same

Read them now and in fairness, the first link looks like a blatant V5 sale to me and one that I would have deleted had it been posted on here.

I can't agree with the Escort Tec statement either. Every car has its own identity and even when the documents and vin tags are lost there are means of either establishing that identity or reissuing another number to the shell. The latter may involve a Q plate admittedly but this wouldn't prevent the car going back on the road.

Without a (RS2000 or Mexico) UK V5 It would prevent it being sold for RS2000 or RS Mexico premium though so the 12,000 mile trip isnt such a good proposition then for it to only be a Q Plate Saloon back here in Blighty

As I have said we know V5 sales go on but its DVLA who need to stop it occuring.

How can the DVLA stop it? its up to the owner to seed in a V5 if a car is scrapped.

If genuine enthusiasts stood shoulder to shoulder, as I would expect them too and didn't get involved in this practice either as seller or buyer then there would be no market for V5s or tags.

Its the kind of thing you might expect from the Arthur daylys of this world but to find it among people who are supposed to be passionate about the cars is a shame.

But money talks.

As im quite new to the site im not aware of who is or isn't a wind up merchant. But to avoid that kind of confusion ads like that should be taken down and the culprit subject to a PM from you.

It goes on for every type of vehicle but it's still not right :banghead:

Correct - Thank you sir !

I only got involved with this particular thread because it was bought to my attention that Top Ghia on O/S/F had "insinuated" that V5 trading is condoned on my website - which it is NOT !

The thing that shocked me over on that forum is the number of members who are openly involved in this type of thing. One guy just sold what amounts to a roof skin with rear quarters for £1200 not forgetting the Mexico V5 and tags. :(:

Im getting a bit fed up now........At no point have i said or even insinuated that V5 trading is condoned on your site.

I said certain members on that site seem to be quite open and involved in the practice.

And you have the cheek to ask me to retract comments! You need to get your facts straight.

How many ?

Ok sorry now I see you answered my first question in your later post

Rallye sport escort forum. One or two members post up ebay log book sales and report them. And end up getting shouted down by the rest who don't care or are at it themselves.

1 or 2 members report Ebay V5 sales and as I have 7643 members then according to your "INSINUATION" there are 7641 who are "at it" regarding V5 / log books

That is your statement I do not agree with.

Also please bear in mind that to be a member of ANY website (mine included) does not then restrict said member from joining and being a member of another website.

Again I repeat classified/private ads for V5's from ANY member of Rallye Sport Escorts are not allowed and as soon as I am aware of any such ads then they will be removed.

Once again.

AT NO POINT DID I MAKE DEROGATORY STATEMENTS ABOUT YOUR SITE.

AT NO POINT DID I STATE OR INSINUATE THAT YOUR SITE CONDONES V5 SALES.

All my statements and insinuations were about certain members of the site and their apparent actions.

You show me where i said your site condones V5 sales.

And show me where you site says that V5 sales are prohibited because i cant see it.
