John escort mk1V6 335
And the rear anti-rollbar is the reality , i have used the old brackets from the front and the slim anti-rolbar . I did bent it and bolt it against the watts suport members. How it is to drive with this ? we will see , i hope that it`s not to stiff , the difference is about 15 mm with both wheels from the ground.

And there kits for sale those are weider and longer for a 2/4 door and they sit lower. I am waiting for a old set brackets to cut up for mine mk1 , so i can test it.
quickrack 91
I'd be interested in how it handles after! Nice project that.
John escort mk1V6 335
Yes Andy i am also , the specs are almost the same as mine mk1v6 , i am doning also a rear anti-rollbar at the rear so i can test what is does , maybe i don`t like it. But we would see , this anti-rollbar is not strong but due it is short now it will be stiff.
John escort mk1V6 335
And finnaly wheels are getting there , the waiting was to get the inserts in the wheels , but after that i could grinding of the clear coat and polish , paint them. Look at the difference between the two wheels , left original , right polished.
colr6 2,360
They look nice, agree with the inserts. Spreads the load, all mine are like yours. Not had a wheel come loose or crack yet 👍

Not had a wheel come loose or crack yet 👍 Oke , and thanks Col , i did want it for the race look , and also for to protect the holes , but it took so long becourse they were a at one man machineshop and a few weeks ago i took them to a other wheel/machineshop , and i am glad i did it , hoping to get at the end of the week the tyre`s on. John escort mk1V6 335
And the tyre`s are also on the wheels , and i must say when i look at the front tyre`s that are very wide.

colr6 2,360
That just sits so well, look even more stunning once finished 👍 Whats the colour going to be ?
John escort mk1V6 335
Thanks guys , yes dt36 that comes becourse i did set the underside wide and also the upperside also with the co-centric top mountings. I must see with how it turns out , when its done , i have set it like this so the tyre`s run free. About the colour Col , i am still thinking about lemans green with some black stripes on the side [low] And the a large part on the bonnet and rear a wide board line RS2000 mk1 style. But it`s always hard to make the right colour choise.
John escort mk1V6 335
So now i did extend the turrets becourse i want the car as low as possible for road use without the risk that the coli-over shocks are going to break down and also to prevent a bad handeling. In the past i already did exchange the longer coil-over shocks for the shorter coil-overs.
Mark1 148
That sits awesome looks great 👍🏻 Personally I would go without fat stripes and stick to plain looks so much better that way.

John escort mk1V6 335
So after a while again something done on the estate , this time it was the rally style center console. I was planning to buy a new the UK . but get the right one for a LHD , was not so easy , so i did make one my self , with a help from a machineshop for the bending en welding , now it costs twice as much. The masurements costs the most time. Its almost done i am waiting or a start push button , when i have dose can drill some extra holes , also for the brakebalance knob , and i am looking for a VDO oil temp gauge from a audi-vw , and later i will spray it black. John escort mk1V6 335
And what have i done now , a few weeks ago , i was to late buy a set audi gauges so that must wait. But there is enough to do and i made a coldstart systeem with a injector from a Granada 2,8i , becourse when it sits for longer time it start no so good , the carbs have no chokes and some times its runs out of petrol. It seems to work , i did conect it to the startpushbutton with a time-relay , first turn on the mainswitch and than turn on the ignition the electric petrolpump starts for 6 sec ajustible 0/60 sec , push the brake pedal and push the startbutton the starter starts and the coldstartinjecter does its job , the engine starts when it turnsover at 2500 rpm the petrolpump turn on again by a relay connected with the bleu wire from the altenator , so it also stops when the engine stops and also the remains the switch so i can always turn off the petrolpump. For now i must keep a eye on it , if it gives problems and i must buy a new airfilter , becourse i did use it for the mk1v6. John escort mk1V6 335
Hi oldskoolnutter thanks , nice to hear about it , thats how it work when you search for info pictures. A few weeks ago i did watch a video about the atlas axle with a watts and the guy was buiding a escort and did show some pictures from the web and mine axle was in it. So the web makes the world smaller and it is much easer now to find things out. I did make the anti roll barr on the estate at the rear of the axle and on the mk1v6 at front of the axle , becourse the floor and exhausts are different and also the watts sits different.

John escort mk1V6 335 Posted Saturday at 10:26 Author Report Share Posted Saturday at 10:26 (edited) So i have bought another set gauges and there did have a red light , the ones that i all ready have did have white lights. But it must have green lights , so i did grind the the steel bezels and remove them , took a solderingbolt and melted the red disk visors and so with green hoses over the lambs , painted the needles and replace the plastic glasses for real glass and used new bazels made from brass so softer and easier to bent , but with only two hands it is not easy to get it nice , so with some clue i did get nice with a paintcan. So the left temp gauge is for the engine oil , the right one is a extra water temp gauge for the radiator , not necessary but i did want 3 VDO gauges for the look , oil presure sit also already in the original dash.
