Granada 2,8i Ghia Automatic 4-door `83

Recommended Posts

This one of mine projects , a lot of work but most of it is done ,

the welding is done except one spot near the heater in the engine bay.

Almost everything that you see on right is also done on the left side.

The hole car is standing in the filler , except the engine cover , thats has rust under de sealing at the front and that is to bad.

So i want to replace it.

On every parts is welding work done , even the roof/sunroof  except the right front wing , underfront , middle part boot floor.

Engine`s bighand bearing is wornout so i have a replacement for that.

The wheels will be replaced for Granada Cos 24V wheels with polished wheelbed.

And there gonna be a couple of extra`s in it.

Thanks Vista , no but the fuel systeem is a important topic.

The old fuel tank did have a dent , rust and a bit of rotting on side were they are weld to gether ,

so i took a screwdriver and hit it 2 times on the rear were the rust sits and 2 holes , so it was the right thing to do.

I really like these cars. I went to look at a 2.8i Gaia x in purple with a purple interior, it had spots and fog lights when I was a youth. I loved it by my girlfriend at the time hated it.

By the time I had convice her I had to have the car had sold - I still regret it.

Hi skeeter , yes they are nice , and they give a smooth feeling , it`s been a long time when i drove it m but i still mis it.

When i drive with mine escort mk1V6  i can`t drive slow/normal , every time i drive it`s goning fast , and with granada i don`t have the same feeling , just relaxed.

Greetz.

Hi Grifter , i did take a look if i am right a long time ago and they didn`t have one for a injection , may be that they it can deliver in the mean while ?

It`s done so and the underside doesn`t leak may be later on top but i don`t thinks so i have check it with a light inside of the tank in the dark and saw a few needle holes and weld them.

Yes Guido , it`s a lot work but most of it`s done there`s one piece to weld under the bonnet in the heater area.

I want first the inside and boot done , before i start at the engine bay.

The last time i did to talk with Arno it`s about a year ago in Barneveld onderdelendag , you know how it goes they have also enough to do.

And i did paint it under the dashboar but als the metal piece with 2k paint and the rubber piece with a spraycan a brown ral colour from a constrution market and that right colour.

There was a little crack in the dash , so did put but sealer in , and it work out not to bad , for now i am happy with it.

I did also more pieces from the interieur.

Nice work 👍

Thanks , there is still alot work to be done , but slowly but sure we will get there.

The RAL colour nr is 8019 grey braun semi-gloss it`s abit like dark chocolate from the spraycan that i used for the rubber top of the dash , i don`t have a paint nr of the steel part , becourse that is made at the paint shop and they kept that recipy them self.

So the engine is all most complete apart , i was thinking to use other 2,8i engine or the 4.0 ohv , but no i want tot safe the original 2,8i engine that came out the factory , and put in fast go stuff.

I`ve had parts galvanized like the 26 mm front anti roll bar from a S suspention , so i will paint that black soon , the first thing that i gonna do is the rear anti-roll also from a S suspention bar and the fuel line protection plate and , and srew them on their place.
