When I looked at it before the listing was taken down it was up to 65 thousand quid on the Mexico. Made me spill my tea. Im guessing these scams are happening quite regularly there? I have never seen an Escort scam like that here. Only the ones that claim "totally original" and "no rust whatsoever"

Yep,

Scam Im afraid.

If your are ever in doubt on these ebay listings look at ''other items for sale'' always selling a JCB or two, camper vans and other classics.

Its a dead give away, so too is the dont bid give me a ring message in the listing.

What I want to know is does anybody ever fall for it?

yes they do! a bloke near me saw a harley on ebay only a couple of month ago, a deal was done over the phone for 15k, transferd money over and arranged to collect the weekend after when the money cleared. suprise suprise, phone was no longer in use and the bank cant trace where the money was sent! funny how they can trace where your money go's when the tax man wants to know!

They must do or people wouldn't fall for it. The sale price isn't the aim as only the terminally stupid would send that amount of money, the aim is getting the buyer to send a deposit via a money transfer system. Say £500 - £1000

Unfortunately this is where we are being priced out of our hobby as people selling there cars/parts are now saying "well one sold on eBay for this much the other week"!!

Unfortunately I think this one may well be genuine. Its a rich mans domain now.

He has removed the engine photo in the main group in the past hour then because it had one when I posted that link. I looked at the engine. There are some smaller versions if you go lower on the page but not the same detail. There must be some reason to take down the larger images of the interior and engine bay?
