Like it! all normal to me, rich if you could afford the scrunchy Izal or Bronco toilet paper! one of my jobs as a kid was tearing newspapers into squares for toilet paper! Kodak 120 film for my box camera and 78 records, back when a Ford pop was in production, how times have changed! as an apprentice there was only the imperial system, Whitworth BSF BA and UNC threads, I still think in thous and inches and do the mental calculation into metric, no calculators or computers, log tables to work out angles etc, good old days? not sure ?

That their parents do actually have authority over them (.....well some of the time).

 

How do you explain that to young children now "1970s Dad wasn't your friend but a slightly remote authority figure who earned the money, had a mostly separate social life to the family, and gave out physical punishment."
