Vista
My first Maiden gig in many years at the O2 in London last night....... The legends have still got it! What a show, amazing set list of music across their various eras too. What a gig, I want to hear / see it all over again!
accord83
Sorry, but as a Northern Soul monkey, who are Maiden?
DT36
I saw Madness at the O2 many years ago, but said I'd never go back there for another gig. Way too big a venue. Looks like you had a decent seat though. Do like some of the original Maiden stuff too and they do pop up on my recommended Spotify playlist.
meXEco
My first gig was Iron Maiden-way back in '84 i think it was-i was just 13 and it was the World Slavery Tour if memory serves me-Cornwall Coliseum in St.Austell-my ears are still ringing!

Only the biggest, best and longest standing heavy metal band of all time. #RockGods! They've released something like 38 albums now (including live and compilation albums). A very early hit from 1981 with original lead singer Paul Dianno Bruce Dickinson took over lead vocals in 1982 and over the next few years the band went stratospheric. A big hit from 1984's Powerslave album And one from Somewhere In Time in 86 Fast fwd a few great albums and we have this from 2000's Brave New World

Yes we had good seats, I booked them as soon as tickets went on sale last year. It was a great gig with mainly classic songs from the 80's and 90's making up the set list

Same, saw them in Glasgow that year then again in 86 for the Somewhere in Time tour. This was my first Maiden gig since 91's No prayer tour though and I am still buzzing. accord83
Ah, I've heard of Iron Maiden, I just wasn't aware aficionado's referred to them just as Maiden, me not being a Rock God an'all. Still don't make my play list even with their full Sunday name.

They're all in their 60's now and whilst they can still rock the house down, how much longer that will be an option is anyone's guess.
preacherman
Seen the stranglers at least 75 times. I lost count now. In the early eighties I would see about 6 gigs on each tour. Now I only see them twice per year. Damned x 3 Buzzcocks x 2 Weller x 2 From the jam x 3 Moorhead x 1 Saxon x

To be quite honest mate, my tastes have changed over the years, so don't follow groups like I used to. Fozzy
DT36
Went to the Selecter and The Beat a few weeks back at Caerphilly Castle. Good all day session, cracking atmosphere and weather made the day. Maddest gig I ever went too was The Macc Lads at the Marquee Club in London, when a couple of us caught the train up from our barracks in Salisbury. Came out after the gig, straight into the build up of the original Poll Tax Riots.
Vista
The Macc Lads, now there's a name that takes me back. Such classics as "Knutsford", "Barrels Round" and "No sheep till Buxton"

I remember that we used to look for their tour dates in the back of Viz mag. I've still got the vinyls, but Spotify is Macc Lads friendly... The same here). It's not the same kind of music but i would love to Beach Boys with all Wilson brothers still alive. What band would love to see in the classic line up but which ain't possible because of band being broken apart or deaths of it's members?
accord83
But wouldn't you need all the band members to be young again? The remaining members would be old and knackered. So maybe the question should be which band would you like to see now, as they were when they first recorded? Even as a Soul fan, I would second the Beach Boys, followed by the 1960's Who.
