trackrod rally at pickering forests sat 29th september. always lots of mk2 escorts, sometimes a couple of mk1 escorts and sometimes lotus cortinas. plus other old cars in the historic cup and also loads of modern shite if your into that. a great day out for not a lot of money! whats better than the sound of BDAs barking through the forest at 9k?

a great day at cropton, loads of sun and some immaculate turned out cars, usually some rough shitters in the yorkshire forests but this year had some mint cars, and not just escorts, chevettes, fiat 131s, an anglia and lotus cortinas were just some of the cars going sideways! this was one of the best rallys at pickering ive been to in years.IMG_7143.thumb.JPG.4722a91253d1e7b84bb3a03320264bc4.JPGIMG_7149.thumb.JPG.9b6e9ddc567b354e90a8c39d9cd3dc79.JPGIMG_7128.thumb.JPG.521c9a15cf8ed42eefd59d47b216bc15.JPGIMG_7169.thumb.JPG.76962dd94dc9dd28b9aa07f33b8660b4.JPG

yep, supprised me too! theres usually a pair running, and this year 3 fiat 131s! as much as i love escorts its great to see other old cars too. a fiat 131 would be on the wish list if my numbers come up!

Great pix.

Think i may head up next year to see this.

Are any other classic rallies held up there through the year?

Rich

ooop in yorkshire forests? theres the cold one in the middle of February, and this one at the end of Sept. i usually post the dates on here about a month before. but if you google RALLY CALENDAR all the dates throughout the year are on there and probably local to you. but if the old stuff your after go to the historic cups or the Roger Albert Clark.

Some mega photos, would love to have rip round like them, for a split second thought about sticking a roll cage in the escort big arches etc, then again don't think I would cope to well sticking it on a dirt track all them little stone chips lol,let alone twatting a tree.

There's some cool cars there and even cooler owners/drivers risking there pride and joy on every outing respect to them.

yeah its even better to hear them at full chat and see them going sideways with the webers barking through the trees. we used to use a local quarry on a sunday for hammering our cars round, although they wasn't the price they are now! still a cheap bmw to throw round the lanes or quarry is fun to learn to powerslide in and doesn't matter if it ends up round a tree or on its lid.
