Just renewed my subscription for another year. :-)

Thanks for all the good work Jo - to you and all the team.

Vista has much more input than I do with the forum these days Jamie but your comments and your continued support are very much appreciated :)  Hope you are well :)

I really like the site, I'm proudly a contributor,I don't post much but read lots . It's a great reference library and soundingboard, the for sale sections don't get as much use as they used to but with ebay and now Retards Club  it is understandable.

I may not be noticed when I visit as I do not always log in but I'm here!

I appreciate your help, and banter  please keep it going, I'm sure that we would all miss it not being here

Mike

I've only been on here since about February this year.

I've found everyone really friendly and helpful, which is why this is the one forum I keep up-to-date with most. There are a few others that I will dip into, but this fits my bill - I have an old school Ford!

Having said that, there do seem to be some threads that don't seem to have much traffic. Like others on this thread, I think it's mostly due to the number of cars "in progress" in that category. Mk2 'Tinas like mine seem to be a bit thinly represented on here, but probably more so than Corsairs. And, yes, I agree that's probably due to the number owned.

I don't think it's any better or worse than any other forum. The success of a forum is down to people using it. People will use it, if it is helpful to them and/or they enjoy chatting with the people on that forum. Now, I've got round to where I started on this reply.

PS I'm still no wiser as to what Retards Club is, what it does, why I should or shouldn't find it, etc.

Right. Got ya. Now I see. The clouds have parted, etc.!!

We used to have a lot more of them in the old days when people liked to post about XR3i's etc on here and got excited when we pointed out that didn't cater for Fords of that generation.

Im on here daily having a nose about. I seem to ask more questions than anything.  It was never my intention. I didnt expect to ask so many questions about a car that is held together with about 50 nuts and bolts and about 20ft of wiring :banghead:.

Without questions there are no new posts. Without new posts the forum stalls and withers with nothing new to read. There can never be too many questions and even after 35 years of owning the same car there is still something new to learn.

20ft! You must have the LWB limo version then. Or is that the as found condition? If so add on 47 Scotchlok connectors, and all the extra wire is either red or black.😁

I'm not sure when I joined the forum....probably a few years ago now. Initially I just browsed and looked for answers to my problems during the build...which I nearly always found.
Most if not all problems associated with all OS Fords have been discussed before.Just takes a little work to dig them out.
Became a bit more active as the build was nearing completion and tend to look in almost daily. Also now a paid up member... every little helps!!
Does seem to be the same names coming up with a few new ones now and then, but at least the forum stays alive.
I used to be on the NWCF forum but that died about 2 years ago...prob due to the lack of use and of course Retards Club.
Attended a few shows now and have put names to faces...ish. Have been on the stand and have a few more lined up. Forum works great as is imo....hope it carries on!
Big thanks to the Admin

I Joined last year, and posted a couple of times, and got some good feedback, however I found BUYSELL CORTINA to be more friendly, so I posted all my MK1 Cortina build up on there.

I came back on here for some Escort advice on a new project for next year, and it seemed a friendlier place. very helpfull people.

So I have renewed my OSF subs this year , and will post up my half finished mk1 Cortina build😃

I haven't used this forum much so I cant really suggest any improvements, just be nice and be friendly and remember not everyone is a knowledgeable as you and may well ask what you consider a stupid questions.

You need to keep a forum going, as its a resource of information.

Retards Club groups don't have that.

The problem (and I have seen it a few times) with joining a well established forum like this is that it seems like everyone knows each other and you don't know where to fit in. In reality (though there are some exceptions) very few of us know each other in the real world as we're so spread out across the country. We also have a much wider spread of ownership than a model specific forum so if your question isn't picked up by someone in the know, it can drop down the pecking order quickly and not get a response. People are wary of giving advice that they're not sure of as it's embarrassing when / if you get it wrong.

Oh and there are no stupid questions, only questions you'd be stupid not to ask if you don't know the answer
