There was a couple you mentioned I didn't know about so I will add them to the thread. Excellent! All companies tart up their models for runnouts but the Fiesta in particular seems to have been over burdened with variants more than most other OSF models. It wasn't just at the end of the Mk1's life but all through its production life. I still have a few yet to post but have been spreading them out so you all are not overdosed on Fiesta models. The amount of one off prototypes is also quite amazing. Ford really loved to experiment with its first FWD platform. The Sandpiper is interesting in that we here in Australia got Sandpiper variants. The really strange thing is that it was a General Motors thing not Ford! The Holden Gemini Sandpiper - The advertising slogan was "Six Birds Thirteen Legs?". Excellent! Have you mentioned the Mk3 Capri Cabaret and Calypso yet? Then there are the various after market cars, the Capri Broadspeed, the Escort Apache, the Capri Comanche, The Capri Stampede, The Superspeed Escort. I have a feeling there was an Escort Navajo too (from Jeff Uren like the Cortina Savage, the Cortina Cheetah. the Capri Comanche and the Capri Stampede). There was a mk3 Capri LS too..................and this particular moniker once caused uproar on here when a member suggested that it stood for Loads of Shit..............with another member who owned one at the time in earshot (I believe). colr6
Your first two pics are our equivalent of the opal kadet coupe. Then our saloon version. The next couple of pics look more on our Toyota Corolla styling.

Yes they are in fact based on the Opal Kadet except they were given a breathless 1.6L Isuzu Engine and marketed as the Holden Gemini by General Motors. Rally Pack 2000
Although well documented it still is a worthy addition to this thread. The 4 door Mk2 Lotus Cortina supplied to Mid-Anglia Police. Only two were ever made.

PeteRS8084
Pretty sure that essex police had mk2 gts as traffic cars in the day, and in Southend few covert cars, one of which was a gold anglia with a lotus twin cam in, always made me laugh as we could spot them by the extra aerials on them!

Lotus Cortinas had been used by Police before the Mk2s - I wonder how many axles they went through? While the 4 Door Mk2s were made specially, two door ones were used as well. Merseyside Police dabbled with Mexicos While Liverpool Police saw too many episodes of the Professionals
Rally Pack 2000
Ford Australia wasn't the only one that sold coloured Mk1 Escort Twincams. Ford UK supplied three Sunset Red Twincams to Ford Portugal in Left Hand Drive. Unique little Lotus badges that replace the usual Twincam ones.

I dare say it would loose alot of its value if it was converted given how rare a LHD version is. I would probably paint the roof though.
