Here's a set of Revolutions I have for my Mk1. Found them for a good price on ebay then refurbed them in my breaks at work. They were in OK condition when I got them but look better now. First time I've refurbed a set so quite happy with them.
Here's the before and after.

That was my Escort back in 1987 with Pirelli 14 inch 4 spokes on. I bought 8 of them new.

I believe all got stolen from the lad I sold the car too, not long after I sold it.

how did you manage to buy them new and where from? been trying to find out info on these pirellis.

It was 33-34 years ago, so I can't remember where I ended up buying them, I used a few mail order Race & Rally suppliers back in the day... But I seem to remember that most of them had them for sale.

Demon Tweeks Springs to mind, but I'm really not sure.

Yeah I'm seeing that now! To think I had 8 and gave them away with the car... Hindsight would be great eh!

They were readily available back then, but possibly folk were put off buying them, I think they cost me a small fortune at the time.

Its always the minimalist Mk2s that look absolutely stunning on these pages. Basic chrome bumpers and even the square headlights work superbly. If you wonder why RWL81P is trying hard to get a complete set of the Pirelli wheels you just need to look at Culli1's example. That's awesome. @Anglia58 - "Marcel I have another wheel finding job for you, im having wheel envy again!"

Well since you guys feel originality is best I will return to the factory alloys that came on the car when I bought it. They are still in the shed.

So off come my unfashionable 4 spokes for these original RS/RP beauties. Australia really has great taste in wheels. They really are the most stylish wheels, finer than anything ever put on European Escorts, its true I tell you and may God strike me down if it were to be otherwise............ (Thunder Clap)...................... Gotta go this strange storm appeared out of nowhere..... see you guys lat....... ?☠️?☠️?

I like those

Perhaps because they remind me a little of the standard Montreal Cromodora Campagnolo rims

Those are well restored examples and as good as it gets. They attract brake dust and go darker drab matt grey with time that no amount of cleaning ever seems able to remove.

That was the big drawback of allycat wheels looked nice when new but a bugger to keep clean !!

Maybe vaguely at first glance but yours have more angled and better finished spokes that collectively give off a great 70's Italian Supercar vide. A pale imitation (or dull imitation in this case) on an Escort simply doesn't work. They aren't even 6in wide they are 5.5in. I believe they are Italian though as they are called Vollante Wheels.

I would be careful with second hand cast alloys, a friend of mine years ago had a set of 4 spokes revolutions on a mk2 escort and the spokes broke away from one of the outer rims due to age and metal fatigue.

They weren't second hand. I bought them new from Revolution. Though they appear to hav dropped the 9J option since I bought mine.
