Jms193
Hello guys and girls I'm new here I have been looking for my dad's old mk2 escort which he sold many moons ago I would like to try track it down and possibly buy it back I did a search with the reg but didn't give me much info I doesn't say it's crushed or written off so I believe it's out there some where locked up or rotting away .. if anyone on here could help in any way possible I would appreciate it.. I have added photos of the mk2 and the info I found with the reg.
Vista
Welcome to the forum. I have to say, that looks a pretty long shot after 27 years.

Rally Pack 2000
Welcome t the forum. With no recent registrations it does suggest the car never made it through the purge before they became valuable but you never know your luck. It does sometimes take people a while to pass through and catch your post so just stick with it and bump it to the top every now and then.
Cuili1
Sometimes, but not always. When the the DVLA say no details held, but there is no mention of it been crushed or written, the 2 doors made their way over to southern Ireland to be turned into a rally car! Jms193
Thanks guys .. Yeah I was thinking it might of rotten away or been shipped somewhere .. I did find out it was a 1979 escort popular 1100 in blue even thou it looks black but if all luck is gone I may have to try find a similar one for sale but it seems the dark blue/black escorts are hard to find. Ray
I don't know why, but the title "Trying to hunt a car down" conjures up a picture of Seth Armstrong wielding a 12 bore shot gun looking for a car, for those who don't know the name Seth Armstrong, ask Colin lol
