Possibly stolen? 1982 Capri parked at end of drive for weeks

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just wanted to check if a car that seems to have been abandoned at the end of my drive is stolen, its not moved for a few weeks and I have read of thieves leaving cars to check if they have a tracker fitted:

Drop a line to the boys in blue, they’ll let you know plus the owner if it is.

Advice, taken, not recorded as stolen.  Still seems very odd..

Yes...very odd. Thought the old bill would trace and contact the owner seeing that its been there for a few days...

The plot thickens, it's had a generic cover stuck over it probably to hide the reg number.

Really can't see anyone local leaving their car parked on the pavement for this long.

Its an OSF, 2 to 1 its broken down and he is waiting for parts to get it going again. If he ordered them from Burtons it could be there for months not telling him they arent really in stock.

It might be a local lad who's bought it and hasn't yet told his Mum and Dad he's just blown his Grandparents inheritance.... Not that I know anything about doing something like that.....

I wouldn’t leave my classic ford out on the street like that.

I bought my first mk1 Escort without my parents knowing! I parked it round the corner till they looked at my bank account lol and I’d spent a whole £150 on it! 😂 it was a long time ago!

Yea mine was a Chrysler 180. Think i paid about 250 for it which was way over the top even back in 1979. I thought I knew it all back then. A lesson was learnt very quickly when the engine permanently broke about 3 weeks later beyond economical repair. I did manage to keep it a secret from my Dad though, as he would have blown a head gasket !!
