Whats wrong with this Picture?

While doing a clear out, I found these two anti roll bar mounts - spot any differences? Now these were fitted to my RS2000 mk2 which drove pretty well and certainly not having any traits that the differing mounts should surely show? Not the thing you look at when buying a car and the 200 mile drive home was a blast - many years ago, So the question is - which is the genuine RS mount .......... I know its has a 20mm bar so thats ok, just wondering about the geometry as I've now got two of one type fitted ....... but they may not be the correct ones !

Answers on a postcard please LOL!

I thought Mk2 RS bars were 22mm?

Australian mounts are different again. They are are a reverse double loop design increasing the thickness and strength at the bolt points. I have never seen a plate like the one on the left but the one on the right looks typical European Escort to me. My Twincam has a different type again but I would need to see the underside of the one on the left. It may be a Mk1 RS type?

mk1 has a 17mm bar, mk2 20mm or 22mm, i think rs could be 23mm, i am not sure, it looks like your bar is about 10mm lower mounted than ours, cheers marcel

My Twincam has a bizarre 21mm bar. Here Mk2 GL's Ghias and Vans have 20mm bars and RS and RPs had 22mm bars.

The bar isnt mounted any lower than the Euro type mount its just that it has a secondary strengthening plate that double loops over the top so the top of the bolt point is actually higher but underneath the shape and location remains the same as the European ones.

The different bolt locations give different castor settings, but I’m not sure what they are

This is the problem as the two i've fitted now are 'apparently' the Mk1 versions ..... at least they both match! The bar could be 22mm - I was guessing - the polyurethane bar bushes were a tight fit for sure! I guess a bit of tracking adjustment will be required - something for later as i've got to get the electrics finished first! Or if someone has a spare mount opposite to the one above, give me a PM?
