Temperature gauge wiring

Anybody know if the temperature gauge on the clocks of a MK1 Cortina has a live going to it and if so what voltage? Having a time trying to get mine working.

If it’s the later cortina ( airflow) it should be 5 v The 5v comes from the voltage stabiliser mounted on the back of clock. If you find which is the feed to the gauge and put the other side of the gauge to earth it should go to the top (hot) if it doesn’t then the gauge is knackered. If it does the poss then sender is faulty. If your experiencing problems with fuel and temp readings most likely cause is voltage stabiliser. Also check the earths on the clocks.
