I think you were on the money with the series 1 SLK. Get a 6 cylinder one though.

Still gravitating towards a 230SLK, @Vista Scott you had one of these, how low was the seating arrangement? I ask because I have to observe a certain amount of practicality so as to get my elderly mother around to places. If the seats are flat on the deck the ins and outs are going to be a problem.

They are low James, no getting around it. It's a 2 seater rag top sports car. Not as low as some but low none the less. You'd be best to go and try one.

There has been a few times I have come across unusual classics that caught my eye and have never seen before and would like to chat about. So thought it would be nice to start a discussion thread for everyone to post images of the other classics they own or those you don't but admire or like all the same.

Two vehicles now on Car SOS that they have restored I had never heard of before but I really liked them. One was their first episode with a Fiat 850 Spider. I had never seen or heard of this one before and what a terrific colourful little car. The rear is just stunning.

The other was from this latest season 7 the Peugeot 504 Cabriolet. 504s are pretty common here but again I have never heard of or seen this Pininfarina designed model. I cannot believe how good duel rectangular headlights look. Not many French designs catch my eye but this one really did.

So do you own any other classics or have any you really love or admire? Please post.

I've got one of those 850 sport spiders.

But mine is a Spanish Seat version.

I never seen another Seat one.

I imported it from Spain about 30 years ago😀

Well its only 903cc, but its very rev happy, and makes all the right noises.

I always drive it hard , it sounds good.😃

Fiat 850 spiders were not sold in the UK, but were exported, notably the USA.

Seat spiders were not sold outside Spain.

You don't see many Fiat 850 spiders in the UK. I don't think there are any other Seat 850 spiders in the UK, so no one really knows what it is.

I was thinking of selling recently, as I have too many vehicles, and need to thin out.

But I still have it, its a 1970, so MOT and tax exempt here. Can't really use it in this nice weather we are having, due to the virus lockdown

This rough looking RHD orange Montreal that has been laid up for 15+ years sold at the Classic Auction at the NEC this afternoon for nearly £40k.  Makes mine the bargain of the century at £8k.

Car and Classic auctions have got two on their site, a Montreal 22 for £48 - £52,000 and a Marrone Metallizzato for £78,000.

Santa came early yesterday (lucky lad!) Triumph 2000 mk2 automatic, totally original, 81k never seen a paint gun or welder, the interior is like new, I suspect seat covers and mats, last owner 45yrs. A 2500tc auto was on the wish list but hard to find, then this popped up I had to have it.
