2.0 Pinto head gasket recommendation

Recommended Posts

Can someone recommend a good quality pinto head gasket. I have one but it's a bit cheap and flimsy.

The compression would be a little higher than standard as the head has been skimmed by 1mm.

You should be able to get a Victor Reinz gasket, they’re good quality or see if you can get an original Payen gasket set.

I’ve done a quick and dirty calculation on compression ratio for you engine.

now there are some assumptions because I don’t know your piston deck height and I don’t know you actual chamber volume, that said it won’t be far off...ish

i use Rheinz when I can and they have a 1.3mm thickness compared with 1.63 standard.

so with all that said my calc put your compression at 10.65 to 1 at most

ok if you make sure you ignition timing is ok

Can't fault Victor Reinz head gasket and bolts.

Where you at now with your engine?

It still the same with the odd jangle noise  from top end and heavy breathing. Got a missfire now but it still goes well. Do to the wifey having a new kitchen I haven't had any time on the car for 5 weekends. I am starting to accumulating some parts for a new engine. Its basically a stock 2.0 block albeit refreshed and a big valve head with fast road cam. Still on bike carbs though.
