A mate of mine wants me to do his car, but the problem is it took 2 of us 8 and a half hours to do the escort, it’s 2 days work if I’m on my own

Ah, but just think. This time next year, Rodders. 🤑

Gosh! So with just a sponge and a bit of dish-washing liquid are you guys going to report me for neglect or something?

I want to know where the aromatic candles come in and the fire ! Suppose that’s used for cars that don’t come up to scratch...lol

that product is top notch but bloody expensive. I use their wax and it’s amazing. Dam good job on the car though, looks really impressive 👍👍

LOL Fortunately I don't use clear coat. Imported cars im particular have the huge matt areas where it yellows and peels off under our sun. Cars only 4 years old need respraying, especially the metalics. Jokes aside I use a bit of Autoglym actually.

I was shocked to find out there was no clear on the escort, it’s more important to polish and wax a none clear coated car to protect it from the elements

You mention in an earlier post it till had its 44yo paint. Clear paints a more recent thing so it definitely would not have had it originally. Nor am I a fan of it myself. When I see it peeling on more modern cars I think it was used by the factory to give greater shine to really poor quality ripply paintwork. Some of the VWs I checked out around ten years ago the paint quality was appalling but weirdly still shiny.

Really - these cars are from an era before Clear Coats and 2 pack paint - it was Cellulose or nothing!
