My car, my choice Thats the thing I think they may be embraced more if better halogen versions were available in the UK. Here Hella made H4 versions which are every bit as good as the rounds. Point 2 is definitely the biggest problem. They used to be very easy to get even after-market H4 ones made in Taiwan but it really has become a problem that would sway some people on to rounds. Maybe they look slightly better but it really does come down to personal preference. Its really too close to call that it would sway me one way or other. On your last point I saw a show on Aston Martins once and the owners said that they dont own their cars they simply hold them in trust for future generations, so you have no say in the matter!! 🥳 So you better watch yourself or I will set the baby on you! They are slightly wider than tall so they are in fact rectangles and with their rounded corners become rounded rectangles. So it all gets rather wacky by this point for the non geometrically minded so precise terms go out the window in favour of a generalised descriptive overviews. Another similar example of the round / square thing is sort of like using the term like black and white just to differentiate two opposing contrasts of a number of things not just the actual specific colours of black and white. So by default we fall back on the two basic contrasts that easiest to process at a glance of round vs square.
