Yes, you can control what filling your wife puts in your sandwiches.

I'm running a Nodiz Pro on my Pinto but I haven't put a TPS on mine so I would be interested in any benefits in using one. I guessing a rolling road session would be needed to get the most from it as its own 3D map would just be generic.

However when mine was started for the first time, on a fresh built engine, it was run to 5000 only on a rolling road and the map looked pretty close to perfect. Going back for a full power run and a jet check when I've done a 1000 miles, should be some time in the next 10 years!

Thanks for the feedback.

At first I was just going to use without the 3d mapping, but then I thought , well it has the capability , I'll  use it , the same for the launch control feature, I thought id use that too.

Mine isn't running yet, I still need to complete the wiring behind the dash.

Just interested in other's experiences of the Nodiz and its features

I will need a RR set up, I have chosen a set of jets and chokes that I think will get me close.

I thought I'd be getting on great guns with this lock down, but I keep getting other jobs to do round the garden !

Are you using the launch control feature ?

No, I would be too scared of breaking something. I build her! I have a MK3 Focus RS and I've never tried the launch control in that either.

Hmmmm - any kind of launch control can be pretty brutal on the transmission and axle! Plenty of stories of broken halfshafts coupled with wide / sticky tyres. I wouldn't be tempted without an Atlas and an LSD - overkill for a road car though IMO. Sorry if I sound a bit like a preacher / old fart - goes with the age i'm afraid :D

I think I'll give it a go, I've fitted a ATB.

Watch this space.

What could possibly go wrong😬

As soon as I run out of Mrs Johnny's instructed work in the garden, I'll be back on with the Cortina.

I had a C63 that had launch control and I only used it once just before I sold it. It was absolutely brilliant and hilarious at the same time and I'm kinda glad that I didn't try it sooner because I would have used it more. Surely if the manufacturer has put it on the car it must be safe if used in moderation?

The design of a C63 is somewhat more evolved than a 'one step removed from a tractor' escort / cortina transmission especially in regard to ABS and engine management options I think?

I'll have some fun braking it. Maybe...……...

Then build it stronger for next time.

That's what we do , isn't it !   😜

Retro 5 speed gear knob fitted, and 99% wiring done.

Just got to wait for assistance with setting up the nodiz pro, as my arms are not long enough to do everything at the same time😞

Well , my assistant helped out with the nodiz, and I got the dash in position, dry run, set up the nodiz , started the engine all good, apart from the carbs are blocked, after 39 years on the shelf in the garage, I should have known they would need cleaning out.

So that's tomorrows job, and the fuel pumps leak, so need to look into that also

Well it turned out the bad running was not the dirty carb's, but the carb's to manifold Misab seal's not tight enough , and causing an air leak, and weak mix .

That's sorted now and it runs lovely.

Although the exhaust that was fine with the crossflow, is mega loud with the Mazda connected to it

🙉

Teething troubles.......

One of the fuel pumps is leaking, so I've replaced that.

The oil pressure switch has stopped working, so a new one on order.

The heater core has decided to start leaking, after all the run up to temp runs on the engine.

It's rather pissed me off, as I had already repaired it and pressure tested it.

It didn't like getting hot .

So heater box out again, this time I e bought a new core 🙄

All back together now, set up the nodiz.

Dash wiring all done, and put back together.

I don't seem to have any room for the heater trunking on the o/s to clear the accelerator peddle.🤔

Next job, the tramp bars I guess.

I missed my trunking off as it went straight into the bias pedal box.

I was starting to think I was the only one!!

I can just miss the pedal box, but the accelerator arm pulls straight into were the trunking would go🙄

I fitted up my " not tramp quite so much " bars yesterday.

The ones designed for a mk1 Cortina are very expensive, I used a kit for a MK2 Escort , but made up my own chassis boxes.😬

I have to see how that works.
