I’ve sent three through the post before and only one of the three made it undamaged it seems to be beyond the Postal Service to deliver something fragile without knackering it so your story doesn’t surprise me RP

Did you ever send one to Australia a number of years back? LOL

Don't know the quality of them, but these are £75.

His rear shelf I bought was really nice quality.

Ohhhhhh He is making replica plenum covers! I never knew anyone was doing those! I haven't seen a decent one without a crack in it in decades. Every day someone posts something good on here! I will savour the excitement for a while before I ask the price LOL

The plenum covers have been available for quite a while, how they look in fibreglass compared to an original one I don’t know.

Ahhhh you all keeping secrets from me then! The original did have a plastic look about it so if they can texture a rear shelf to look original then the plenum covers should be worth a look. The natural follow up question is for someone who bought one to tell us how it is? 😀

The idea of the cover is for sound insulation, in fibreglass I can’t see it doing much of that ! But the aesthetic factor might be quite good. I need a rear parcel shelf so I could always order a cover as well and report on quality.

We only remember them as moisture traps and the sooner you removed it the better. It was a scary rust lottery when you took one off for the first time. Its why there are so few about, that and their fragility. Funny now that I really want one!

Just dropped him an email re the shelf, also ordering the plenum cover and some carpet sill trims.

Parcel shelf is actually better quality than the original.

However, the original has a thin strip of sponge for vibration which the replica doesn't.

I fitted dodo mat under mine, along the complete rear shelf and it still fits nice. This also stopped the smell of petrol coming in the car from my Rally fuel tank.

With regards to the plenum cover, I reckon you could put dodo mat under there before fitting too for sound damping.

I have the original plenum cover still fitted to mine and it is a thick old heavy unit.

Might order some C panel trims from him actually if we're all getting new shit 😁.  I think mine have been painted black.

I just did Dynaliner under mine as the spring strips had turned to powder. Unfortunately there are no replica shelves for 4 doors.
