notenoughtime
I originally done it on a mk1 cortina back in 1992 the only concern I had was the wheels didn’t fit that I wanted to use so check you have clearance you need to weld a bracket on the tunnel for the handbrake and use a mkv rs2000 handbrake cable as it’s shorter than a Sierra one you will also need the dog bone from handbrake to cable Sierra calipers I had to take 10mm off the mounting face to line the caliper with the disc I used Peugeot front discs and you have to take 2mm off the halfshaft flange outer diameter for the disc to fit over you just need some caliper brackets for the axle which most places sell
notenoughtime
My mate did have a few axle brackets machined I’ll ask if he has any left Edited December 30, 2020 by notenoughtime

notenoughtime
What do you get as just looked on there website only found kit for £150 but I’m sure you will need to spend more with calipers pads etc
Jim mk2
Yeah they do the kit you have looked at and they also sell new rear calipers.
notenoughtime
You can get rear calipers easy as just Sierra ones
colr6
9” brakes work just as well if not better, why go to all the hassle.
DT36
I'm with Col on this. If the drums are working well, I'd leave them on. I've had 3 RS2000S over the years and the 2 that had standard rear drums braked much better than the disc conversion I have now. My disc setup was already fitted to my current car when I bought it, along with a bias pedal box. I suppose I could convert it back to standard, but if I'm honest I'm just to lazy and can't be arsed 😂

Many get swept into the disk brake improvement upgrades because of the dinosaur concept of drums but with Escorts with so little braking being done at the rear, put your money into the front. You can even get quality new drum replacements for next to nothing as well these days.

Monza
Only part I couldn't get new were the back plates.... everything else from a motor factors place. Gave them an RS2000 reg from ebay and got all the parts except maybe the spring/clip set. Plenty of them on ebay tho Sent from my Hammer_Energy_18x9 using Tapatalk

colr6
It’s like most things without a machine telling them they’re knackered. I spoke to a proper old skool parts kid when I wanted some strut insert for a RS2000 mk1, part number straight away ....no books or computer. These people ar3 a bit thin on the ground these days.
Johnny Boy
There is a older guy at the motor factors I use in Eastbourne, old school , and very knowledgeable, oh that's a big word, I don't really ask the others any more 😳
