psmk2 19
Has anyone used one of these to install a type 9 gearbox.... my backs gubbed and i can't lift the box myself so was looking at buying a transmission jack.. ...ive seen a few sites selling the jack adaptors that basically fit into your existing trolley jack and wondered if they were any good.... can't find any reviews online
dt36 953
Assuming your lying on the floor I used something like a length of 2" x 1" timber and cut 4 lengths. I spaced 2 pieces out on the floor and sat my gearbox on it centrally. Then I placed the other 2 pieces on top of them, running up either side length of the gearbox. When I was happy with the position, I nailed them together, then nailed a square of thick ply underneath it all. This balanced really well on my trolley jack and let me put my box in on my own.
