davreeve
Hi People i,m new here and was wondering if anybody can remember seeing and photographing a mk2 escort rally rep at ford fair 2004 or in the watton, norfolk area before that.It was a white arched mk2 with a red stripe with motorcraft ,castrol ,lombard rac graphics ,four cibie oscars .wheels were 7x13 superlites(polished rim with black centres).Reg no. was PON 14R. This was my car and in a moment of stupidity i crashed and killed it on August 20th 2004.It was a good looking car that unfortuanatly i have no pictures of to remind me of it. davreeve
No it was actually parked right near the entrance where you payed to get in(didnt think i was going so never booked in with seoc) .My wife did do a lame 0-60 run. I was a member of the seoc 2003-2004 and attended a few meets at the flying fortress pub at Bury st Edmonds as well as a few local shows(Bradenham,Breckland show on Watton airfield). It was also in Nov 2004 readers rides in classic ford in smashed up condition. I remember seeing the blue car ,shame it crashed as it was very nice.
ian.944
Hi Dave, I can't help you with pics from the 21st century, but i do have loads of pics of PON14R from when I built her originally. The fact I have just joined OldSkoolFord means I cannot post the pictures, but if any one is interested I will post them to a webspace? I have pics starting with the purchase of the 2 owner 1300 sport, through the removal of all the Fibreglass and underseal, the letting in of new steel, and the addition of the 2.0 litre, capri suspension etc. I wish I still had Her......... regards, Ian

Sorry for that ,i lost it in the wet and hit several tree,s .I,m still really gutted about it 5 years on There are a couple of pics in classic ford mag Nov 2004 in the readers rides section. It did,nt look unrepairable in the pics but the whole shell was severly twisted with the bootlid being about the only panel worth saving. ian.944
At least you walked away. It must mean that even though my welding wasn't pretty, and the A panels were made out of steel shelving panels. At least she held together ok when it mattered. Did she still have the half cage in? davreeve
Cheers for that When i got it in late2002 it had mostly been stripped for parts .i.e no engine or box, no interior and no doors but always up for a challenge i bought it any way .Fitted mk2 rs2000 roll top interior and built myself a fairly decent 2ltr along with a 5spd box.Capri 2.8i front legs and brakes ,Also i sorted the body work with new wings ,top half inner wings ,front panel,re skinned some doors i bought and changed it from red to signal orange with 1300s stripes and fitted 7j x13 superlights with black centres .It looked good for a year but the rear arches were bubbling up so i decided to alloy arch it and turn it into a rally rep in white and red with motorcraft decals etc. It looked great but sadly only lasted like that for a few months before i crashed it.Because i was a bit unconcious at the time the police had it recovered and i made the mistake of going through my insurance as the recovery and storage costs were huge.Obviously its was written off and there was no buy it back clause in my policy so i never saw it again.
