Your choice of Mk1 Escort ?

I've recently started looking at buying another 2 door Escort, as there are now so much choice with the possibilities of trim, engines etc wondering what everyone prefers ?

I like it to look standard in terms of engine and trim but to go like stink so few of my modifications shout about themselves

Just interested in others opinions, i have always gone old skol with nice looking standard'ish looking car with a hot crossflow........... however i'm getting into my 40's and wondering if i should be getting updated from the 80's (when i 1st got into Escorts) and getting a more modern car ie with Zetec etc.for a change ?

 

I've not had the chance of going in one with newer running gear and not sure if i'd like it or not ?

 

 

Sorry to those who picked Cortinas, Anglias, Capris and the like although i like all OSF's having owned a Escort from the age of 13 i can't get them out of my system, even after trying others and going to rehab

mines got standard trim and looks but with 190bhp pinto and i love it.

but then i also kinda want a stripped out racer,but dont think this would be quite as nice on the road,more of a track car

Depends what you have in mind for it? I know mine is minus heater and carpets and on long runs its loud and cold with windows constanly steaming up.I do stay in the frozen north though

 

I'd go with pinto on 45s slammed on 7x13s revos painted orange no stripes interior caged but with full carpet centre console and leather recaro cossie interior

yes phil your about right there mine will probaly fall in the first catogrie but one of each would be nice
