caprinerd Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 nice motr bub get the pics in the capri room there`s a thread in there for pics of your capri
Craigorypeck Posted December 3, 2009 Author Report Posted December 3, 2009 Woops! sorry to post in the wrong section.... Thanks for the nice comments! Its a ford colour but not Capri, neuveau red, not sure that's spelt right!!!?? It's been on a few NI Capri club runs at the start of the season also the ford fare in Portrush, nothing after that tho as I've been away most of the summer in U.S, I'll be home at the weekend for xmas so there'll be a bit of driving and work done to the car... Incase anyones wondering, I seriously doubt the mileage on the clock!! Maybe from when the engine was rebuilt I presume
evil knievel Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 It's probably been round a few times Looks exceptionally clean though I'm loving the steering wheel, the colour, and those wheels! Spot on!
mk1markfalkirk Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 looks nice whats the specs on the wheels are they 14"s?
Mick The Cabbie Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Thats nice! I've a soft spot for a nice 2.0S
Guest chriscapriman Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 sweet ill bet that sounds nice on the twins whats it like on mpg tho
Craigorypeck Posted December 4, 2009 Author Report Posted December 4, 2009 looks nice whats the specs on the wheels are they 14"s? They are 13" 7J minilites, with 215/50/13 tyres on. It originally had the same size BF Goodrich with raised white lettering and loads of tread left but they were beginning to perish really badly and I was scared of a blowout so I changed them. Harder than you may think finding tyres this size!!! BF stopped making this tyre years ago. These were imported from US by my local tyre dealer whos a big corolla head who has the same minilites as mine. Was thinking of as pair of alleycats at some stage, they are way cooler.
Craigorypeck Posted December 4, 2009 Author Report Posted December 4, 2009 sweet ill bet that sounds nice on the twins whats it like on mpg tho Well on the 32/36 was getting around 33mpg, with the 40s on a very well behaved right foot I'm getting about 26, high teens if I floor it all the time which I do cause it sounds fantastic!!! I'm gonna uprate the cam to make more use of the fuel being thrown at it and maybe a mappable ignition with throttle position sensor to try and make it more powerful, maybe even economical!!
jamesg Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 looks great mate, love the wheels n tyres
Craigorypeck Posted January 7, 2011 Author Report Posted January 7, 2011 Just finished my YB install.. Thanks to everyone on here for help along the way! Here's a few of the final pics The full engine build and install is on the link below- http://www.fordcapriforum.com/forum/vie ... e9&start=0
jamesg Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 very nice mate, wheels and tyres look very smart
Nicks53 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Nice, all around a great looking car. I like the chrome trim on the dash, the lettered tyres, the Mk2 grill and even the colour which looks similar to the maroon you get on Mk1 Cortinas, which usually isn't my cuppa at all!
Monkfish Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Real smart. Not seen a YB on bike carbs before: which are they, and what's it go like?
