jdw3696 Posted July 5, 2015 Report Posted July 5, 2015 Hello, does anyone have the above. Need them to go on an english axle i believe was off an escort. Id like to put the hydraulic cable back to cable if poss. Thanks. Joe
PeteRS8084 Posted July 5, 2015 Report Posted July 5, 2015 Hi Joe, Kermit has a rear disc conversion, works like the dogs danglies! Cosworth calipers, discs and a cable conversion. There are complete kits on flea bay, but just a a good read through as some state the drive shaft requires shortening, some don't. Oh and don't ask me which kit I have as it was installed when I bought her. On another subject thought you were selling her? Pete
jdw3696 Posted July 5, 2015 Author Report Posted July 5, 2015 Hi Pete, Thanks for that. Yeah she is for sale but until someone takes it ill keep doing bits. Cant make my mind up whether to try and keep it or not. Head ruling the heart at the minute. Ill have a look on ebay then. Do you know what the kits called?
PeteRS8084 Posted July 5, 2015 Report Posted July 5, 2015 If you type in mk2 rs2000, or if you know the mark of the escort axle, mk1 or mk2, type that I and put in rear disc conversion, there are always ones on there. Read through the description though like I said. And I have had the heart or head plenty of times, you will know what's right! Good luck, Pete
khanlad Posted July 5, 2015 Report Posted July 5, 2015 Got mine from mk2 mania, bolt onto axle, all instructions included, simple to do. The only concern you may have is wheel/tyre to body clearance as the fit over halfshfts so push wheel out by about 10/15 mm? Plus then watch the length of your wheel studs, easy to change whilst youre doing the job anyway 1
eeb43 Posted July 5, 2015 Report Posted July 5, 2015 mk1/2 fiesta discs the outer of the halfshaft needs lightly skimmimg to put them over weld on brackets from ebay about £20.00 and a pair of sierra rear calipers i have got calipers with carriers for recon at £75.00 a pair
jdw3696 Posted July 6, 2015 Author Report Posted July 6, 2015 Thanks people. Ive got the fiesta disks so imagine they just need skimming more. Ideally sierra callipers too so i can go back to cable handbrake
colr6 Posted July 6, 2015 Report Posted July 6, 2015 It's the halfshaft that need turning down so the discs fit over them would also recommend fitting longer studs
2512pf Posted July 7, 2015 Report Posted July 7, 2015 that Cortina looks super cool on ebay joe good luck with the sale pal
