Thanks, what has been happening is these aftermarket ones, (the last were Quentin Hazel) just dont last like they should. The QH ones lasted less than 3 years. Its not like I live in a rainy wet place for them to corrode out either! LOL I found a new Ford one in Italy the other day so I am hoping to find a partner for it. I got some new Ford seals in advance to keep me covered when the seals go in the Ford ones (Girling?) I used to get ten years or so out a set of cylinders its just they must make them cheaply these days or dont use real rubber in their seals?

Its my understanding is that all companies like Borg and Beack and QH and Firstline have all merged and basically are the same parts. I really would like a matching one for my NOS Ford one which is ultimately Girling. Bough a couple of NOS Ford kits se see me out for the future just need the other cylinder to use them on.

I also bought a new spring kit and almost slipped over on one of the old shoe springs so I threw it out so it wasn't in the way and trip over again and the new springs are so tight that I simply cant get one of them on. I thought It my have been coil bound at first but i have rammed a screwdriver between all the coils so its not that. I must be getting too old and feeble these days or something and cant even lever them the way I have always done before. I am cursing having thrown the old ones out straight away. If anyone has a set of originals laying about please let me know. Im pretty such they have heaps less tension than these new aftermarket ones.
