Red mk5 Cortina Estate reg YBJ886X was stolen from outside a house in Hackney, E8 at around 11:35pm on Saturday 21st March 2026.

The car is a red 1981 South African imported 2.0GL & is fitted with a roof rack & towbar & has a Krueger National Park sticker on the rear window. 

The car was originally a manual car but was converted to automatic when in Africa.
 
The car is missing the chrome side trim on the nearside rear long window & the chrome roof rail trim has been snapped so the rear is missing.

Aside from the trim, the car is in very good condition apart from a dent on the leading edge of the bonnet & has rust spots on the tailgate.

The car has South African 16 slot steel wheels as opposed to the UK spec "dartboards" & also has unusual mudflaps with FORD picked out in white.

The car drove South on St Mark's Rise before turning left onto Ridley Road. It would then have gone onto Dalston Lane.
