Hi all, thanks for the messages and I’ll now reply or attempt to 😃
@quickrack @Minilitemanyes your correct, they are Weber IDF’s , I have just searched through the huge A4 folder that the previous owner gave me and found all the receipts and user manual from Weber and it’s all there but in Swedish, bought brand new in 2022 from MECA Sweden….
all of the engine components including the head bolts were supplied by Burton, this engine has been ported and assembled by a Swedish race engine builder whose name eludes me at the moment but is well known in Swedish drag racing for his V8 builds, I can reach out to the previous owner as I talk to him quite regularly and update, my point is this engine has over £10 grand in parts spent on it and I have the receipts to back it up, I don’t have the labour costs though .
@dasadrewSo the car is now exempt from its vehicle inspection called vägverket apparently as it’s over a certain age and was thoroughly inspected by the Transportstyrelsen agency, I’m not aware of any ULEZ restrictions but I’m gonna check it out; yes this car started life as a 1.3 I think however the VIN plate was analysed by CHATGP and it’s stating it was a 1.6 pinto fitted originally but I’m sure that an expert on here can help decode the Vin plate .
Most importantly the car is officially recorded on its official paperwork as engine swapped to a 2.0 litre, according to the previous owner this is difficult to do but he’s done it and once again I have all this documentation in my “folder of provenance” however I believe the engine displacement is more like 2.05 litres due to the Forged 92mm pistons now fitted to over sized bores.
As for the power output please see the dyno pics below, I wasn’t present at the run but I have no reason to think it’s a photoshop job 😀I have the originals in the FOP files.
Im not a mechanic so don’t shoot me down in flames, however I’m very hands on and fabricated a new alternator bracket to accommodate a new alternator as the one fitted was knackered, I purchased an 100 amp universal alternator from BILTEMA as I couldn’t find a Ford original, anyway seems to be working fine as I have driven the car from Skien in Norway to a town above Stockholm Sweden to its new home, I basically ran the engine in on that journey as it only had 400 kilometres on it since its rebuild, 850 kilometre trip, and yes I dropped the oil and changed the filter myself on its arrival .
ive even got the original Ford manuals and instruction books, this car has been loved all its life in all its history from family saloon to its current restomod configuration.
