I have quite a few 1/43 escorts i want to get rid of in favor of some 1/18, maybe we can do a deal, got any pics? and what 1/43 stuff do you already have?

Its not the year of the engine you need to worry about really, its the type of temp sender that is correct for the clocks you are using.

Find the correct one for tyour cortina clocks and then cross it over with the resistance of a unit suitable for your engine fitment.

Lovely! The x pack was supposed to be Terrys motor but just before filming started it was deemed "Too flash for a simple bloke like Terry", so he ended up with a capri.
