  1. About 5 years ago I posted a want ad here for a 1600 XF for my Mk1 and got really lucky. Can't remember who I bought it off but it was a lovely 1700 build with a nice cam etc and worked head.

     

    Anyway, another project, another request.

     

    So thought I would try again. Is anyone about to, or has already, swapped out a good 1600 /1700 for a Pinto or Zetec conversion and got one up for grabs. 1600/1700 I'm not too fussy as long as it's good............or......

     

    A 1600 that is complete that maybe needs or would benefit from a rebuild? Not too worried about ancillaries as long as it's a full engine.

     

    Worth the ask.

  2. Superb car. Restored 2005 and still presents well today. Underside is spotless. You could almost eat your dinner off it (if u eat upside down that is) Painted not undersealed. Lovely 2.0 Pinto mated to a 5 speed for more comfortable motorway use. Interior and engine bay are also in superb condition. Alloys in excellent condition with good tread on the tyres. MOT to May 2016. This will qualify for free road tax front next year which is also nice. Viewing recommended. Location Guildford

  3. 1972 Ford Escort Mk1 Mexico. Sebring red. BFATMK00*** chassis number. Historic taxation class. 1700cc Kent crossflow engine with forged Pistons, 244 cam, ported head with larger 39/41mm valves. 4 into 1 tubular manifold into new Sportex exhaust. Twin 40 Dellortos. Standard 4 speed short shift rocket gearbox. Single piece propshaft.

     

    Electronic Bestek ignition system and distributor. Electronic Facet fuel pump. Standard deep dish steel sports wheels with chrome wheel nuts and steel chrome hub caps, virtually new tyres. Discreet Kenlow fan. Girling remote servo. Has had new front discs and pads, calipers, rear shoes and brake cylinders, new clutch, new windscreen, halogen headlights. Fully serviced in last 250 miles.

     

    Front Cibie lights are wired and working. Deep dish steering wheel.

     

    Recent (in the last 18 months) new steering rack, track rod ends, MacPhearson front struts and rear shocks. Polybushed throughout. New copper fuel and brake lines.

     

    A good solid older restoration. No rust. Original unwelded chassis. Beautifully clean engine bay.

     

    Current MOT to November 14th 2015. V5 in my name. Mine for over 5 years.

     

    Excellent grin factor driving experience. The twin 40's make the most amazing burble under acceleration. Certainly turns heads. Not for a shy and retiring wallflower.

  4. For sale is my chassis tilter.

    I purchased this new from CJ Autos to carry our significant repairs to my car.

    Major repairs now completed, I have no real use for it at the moment.

     

    It is the CT05 model which is the heavy duty version and boy is it heavy. I reckon you could easily lift more than a VW Camper on this but CJ rate it at about 2500kg. Do not confuse this with some of the cheap tat available. This is very well made.

     

    I also bought 2 standard beams and fabricated brackets to fit a Mk1 Escort. But it wouldn't take much to modify them again for other cars. Or if you prefer, CJ's do dedicated beams for various cars. They also sell castors for it but I didn't bother as my workshop wasn't big enough to warrant moving it around.

     

    This tilter is in perfect condition. They cost over £1200 new excluding the beams. If you have an up-coming project, this is for you. It has been an absolute godsend. You can rotate the car through a full 360 degress.

  5. 1976 Ford Cortina Mk3 2000E Auto, 4 Door, Diamond White. MOT July '14, Tax Jan '14.

    The engine runs nice and sweet with absolutely no knocks or cam noise. Fully polybushed suspension, new track rod ends and new valve stem oil seals. New cambelt and tensioner, Full service in last 50 miles including oil/filter, auto 'box fluid and a brake fluid change.

    It has a period aftermarket tilt glass sunroof that is fully functioning and doesn't, as far as I can determine, leak

    A very clean, rust free and ready to use '70's classic. See below, lots of pics.

    Structurally it is sound. Chassis is all good, Sills are very good. Floors good, inner wings good etc etc. Has rear inertia belts fitted. CD head unit in glovebox. Original Radio fitted but purely for aesthetics as not currently wired up.

    There is a bit of noise from the diff on the overrun and the front seats either need replacing or revamping as the foam is rather flat and the drivers seat base has worn rather thin and has a couple of holes.

    I have another complete rear axle (including brake shoes and drums etc) included in the sale, if you want it of course.

    I had planned to sort the axle and the seats in time for next years shows, but need to sell to fund the purchase of my daughters first car. Though I could be persuaded to p/x........possibly as after a Mk2 Capri.

    A great looking car that turns heads and always receives great comments.

    Viewings welcomed and indeed encouraged to fully appreciated what your buying. Don't forget it is approaching 40 years young.
