These rare and exciting cars are provided by the two leading historic racing organisations; the Historic Grand Prix Cars Association (HGPCA) and the Masters Racing Series. This meeting is the most authoritative historic racing event on the spring calendar.

If you think modern F1 is boring and rather processional, with overtaking only happening in the pits - then watch this meeting - close racing with places being swapped every lap and you will see why it is called La Grand Passione?

In the Grand Prix front engine pre ‘61 grid you should see the ex Phil Hill Monza GP winning Ferrari 246 versus the Lister Monzapolis versus the ex Rob Walker Connaught b-type.

In the Grand Prix rear engine pre ‘66 grid don’t miss a gaggle of the early 2½ litre Cooper T51’s, ex Moss/Trintignant/Brabham battling with the later V8’s, T66 T73 originally driven by McLaren/Amon/Gardner/Hill/Bonnier

A number of these GP cars have not raced in the UK for some years. Look out for the ex-Jacky Ickx 1970/71 Ferrari 312B. And plans are advanced for two Italian based Niki Lauda era Ferraris never seen in the UK before.

All the important race teams are represented; Cooper, Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, BRM, Lotus, McLaren, Tyrrell, Connaught, Matra, Wolf, March, and more. Many of these cars were driven to F1 podium positions in period.

Most racing enthusiasts agree there’s nothing quite as electrifying as hearing an F1 DVF engine on the red line.

speed is everything gp euroseries

Normally at home at Le Mans, the awesome Lola DFV and Porsche 917 go head to head with a rare Ferrari 3 litre prototype, March DFV and Alfa T33 with Chevrons, Lolas and GT40s adding more muscle. Their advanced aerodynamics give these cars exceptional speed down the straight towards the grandstand. lola lolas gp euroseries

Not far behind will be Austin Healys, MGBs, Morgans, Alfa Romeos and Lotus Elites. This race will feature two drivers with mandatory pit stops and is always popular at historic festivals. ac cobra gp euroseries

sports car heaven gp euroseries

The sports car class provides some of the most beautiful and charismatic machines from the ‘50s. The lines of the ‘C’ Type Jaguar, Aston Martin, Maserati, HWM and OSCA are unmistakeable. The outright performance of these 50 year old cars will amaze you too. As will the ability of the drivers to drift them through the corners on their narrow racing tyres. The disc brake class will feature Cooper-Monaco’s versus Lister-Jaguars originally driven by Archie Scott Brown/Roy Salvadori/Jack Brabham battles, and the drum brakes class features Maserati 300S vs thundering Allards against the tiny Cooper Bobtails. c type jaguar gp euroseries

There is nothing to touch the David and Goliath contest of Pre ’66 Touring car racing. See Lotus Cortinas out-brake mighty V8 Ford Falcons, or Mini Coopers and Hillman Imps nip inside mighty Mustangs at the corners..
