Engine Paint- what to use?

Hi , just wondered what you all use to paint your engines if you do, as i want to get mine ready and paint it soonish. Would hammerite work or is there a special paint?

i use hammerite but a few people say its not very good...its only an engine. itll get mucky anyway

I am painting my engine, I phoned burton to see what they used to paint their green crossflow in the catalogue and they said hammerite mid green

true true, but i dont want it to crack and fall off after its first use or is hammerite good with heat?

my uncle Ron used hammerite on mine and it seemed to hold very well indeed.
