MK3_DC Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 So i was going home last night, just been to the gym at work, driving up to the M25, now going to the M3 was bizzy all last week so I thought i'll go the M4. Got the wireless on for the traffic news, accident as you leave the the M25 joining the M3, wow, did i make a good decision, doing 75 on the M4. Got to junc 6 on the M4 and it stopped, literally, heard on the radio there was a 9 car pile up just after junc 7 and the motorway has been closed. 1.5 hours to get home on what can be a 35 min journey. Then I heard there had been an accident on the M3 at Junc 4, what is wrong with people, can no one drive anymore ? Everyday I listen on the wireless to accident here, accident there, and half the time the traffic is never doing more than 50mph, so my question is..............................HOW ??

Morley Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 Why they just let people join on the back of a que when they could turn people away or around before they get there is beyond me The way that the motorist is treated is a joke if you ask me. We spend a fortune in taxes to drive on the roads yet the roads are a joke. Its 2006 for christs sake, there is no way that we should be sitting in traffic for 5 hours on a motorway with 5 bastard lanes... Sorry, that is a delayed rant from last Monday...
Guest street*wise Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 i see an accident almost every day! my route to work is along the m11, the a406 and the A12, these are all really bad roads, i mean dont get me wrong i check my mobile when im driving, but i dont do it when im having to really concentrate when like over taking etc! AND WHAT IS THE POINT IN UNDER TAKING outside of london!!!!!! im guilty of it inside the A406, but as soon as i hit the m11, it stops it just causes accidents when going at fast speeds!
105Nick Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 I get the commuter coach from Rochester into London, and there's always an accident. The other morning there was an artic lorry that had burst into flames - jesus there was just a huge gouge along the A2 But blimey - I leave the office 5.30 and been getting back 8 some nights its stupid. I read in the paper the government are going to introduce congestion charging on the M25! Soon to be followed by the entire road network. So why are we paying road tax (or not as in my case ) to use the road when we will have to pax further taxes? I thought that was a breach of human rights of freedom - you're allowed to go where you like when you like? Apparently they're on about installing a GPS tracker on all cars and having a 'toll' so you pay for how many miles you do! In that case, I'd want road tax abolished, as well as tax free petrol - but it ain't gonna happen. This country is gettin crazy.
MK3_DC Posted October 31, 2006 Author Report Posted October 31, 2006 I think all the taxes will be incorporated into the one, ie no tax on petrol or road fund licence, depending if they just toll the bigger roads, I can see me using the bike more and more ! Be good to see what price oil companies would charge for tax free petrol ?
