GTechR Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 Recently got my self a Mk2 Escort RS X pack, a car I always dreamed of owning, but now it's sat in the garage in the cold light of day, i'm starting to get a bit scared of the project i've given myself, (bearing in mind my basic Mechanical skills etc)... As a last case senario I clould sell it as is, it's hard to give an exact spec, but it's as far as I know an original X Pack, the bodywork is solid, it's had some welding on the floorpan, but nothing that couldn't be tided up very easily, it has no interior save a couple of cobra bucket seats, the engine spec is again in some doubt, the previous ownere was under the impression it was a Graham Hathaway built pinto inro 170 bhp, but it's running 40's with a standard pump, and althought it's got a 'cam' it's not overly lumpy on tickover so that to me would suggest it's not that wild. Realistically what sort of price would it go for in this state? I really dunno what I intend doing at the mo, my heart says keep it ( and i'd guess thats what 90% of you lot would say) BUT I've already had to scrap one project because I got buried too deep in it, and the last thing I wanna do is the same to this car... pictures are in the rides section.
RETRO_AL Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 if you have always dreamed of one why not keep it? whats making you a little scared?i would just drive it for now and use it for a bit of fun price wise its hard to price them best to stick it on ebay and put a reserve of maybe a little less than what you paid for the car and see how it goes
escort new boy Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 mate you would'nt have to scrap even if it did get in a mess some people on ebay buy anythin especialy a 2 door
