72mk1escort Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 As above really was going to pick up my brother from a party and it snapped half way there so i tried to drive it home on the gears starting in first with the engine off and going through the gears and bringing up the revs slowly which very almost got me home but the battery ran dead about 1/2 mile from my house. So my Dad had to come down and booster pack it and we let it run at 2000rpm for a bit to charge and the switched it off and i managed to get it going the same way and get it home.But the thing that is the most annoying is the clutch cable was brand new about 8 months ago I need to use the car tomorrow so i am now pretty desperate for a clutch cable so if anyone in the S.E London area could help me out if they have a spare on knocking around that would be really helpful I will sort you out a good drink for it
