4 door escort Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 first out i'd better say hi and intorduce myself.....so, hello all this is Tony now down to business, i have a 1380 crossflow in my mk2 escort, all was going well with dropping this new engine in until i went to put the webers on (dcoe 40's) and found that the brake master cylinder is in the way, does any one know how i can over come this problem? cheers in advance Tony
PaulAshman Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 Welcome to OSF buddy. I guess you mean the brake servo tower, if so you can lower it to give yo the clearance you need. I did this only last week and it is fine. Anymore info or help just ask.
MightySprocket Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 you need either a new manifold that is angled up slightly to clear it or remover the master cyclinder tower
4 door escort Posted May 15, 2008 Author Report Posted May 15, 2008 thanks for the welcome and even more so for the replies, i've got an inlet manifold that is angled upwards and no brake servo, it's literally just the master cylinder with the fill pot on top of it, with the brake line coming out of the side,
over_head_cam Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 You could use a remote pot if that's the only bit in the way
