how wide could i go with banded steels on a escort mk2 lowered 2 inches with standard arches and lips.

 

would 6.5inches be ok or would they be a problem?

with a 175/50 tyre you would probably be ok with 7" but yeah 6.5" should be fine

i wanna be able to use 185/60 tyres and i know 7's are too wide.

 

just wondered if 6.5inch would fit fine or if 6 was my limit

i currently run 13x7 superlites on the mk2 and i had to grind the lip on the inside of the arch away to nothing mine was lowered 2 inches and it still rubbed on heavy cornering this was on 185/60's

 

now lowered only 1 inch and i don't have a problem, can't get any one in the back though, but am i bothered??? (nah, i got no mates!!!!)

it mainly depends on the offset you decide to go for

my arches are rolled , with the 7x13 , ive had 0 offset and had no problems , now got 7 offset and they rub slightly

ive gone for 7.5, whilst capri arches are bigger i dont think they are any wider...

well i have three deep dish anglia steelys and 1 cortina steely... not banded either

 

i guess ill have to put two anglia one on the back and 2 5.5j lotus steels on the front because i cant have 3 of one and one of the other can i ???

then i can sell my 5.5 cut up and turned round steels
